Pats/Jags: Predict the Outcome

Hey, there's 4 good games this week, but everyone seems to think the Jags have a really good shot at upsetting the undefeated Pats. I tend to disagree. While I have very healthy respect for a high quality team, I just think the Patriots and Colts continue to play at a level far above the rest of the NFL.

In any event, 2 things to predict -- final result, and over/under on Pats rushing attempts (exclude kneel-downs, QB scrambles by Brady, etc. I'll set the over/under at 12. If you assume 60 offensive snaps, that's a paltry 1 in 5.

Feel free to predict precise scores. For purposes of the pool, I'll just do margins of victory.

EDIT: FYI, the weather forecast is for high 30s/low 40s, with 10% chance of precipitation.

EDIT: Rats, I screwed up the poll -- didn't allow for multiple selections. Mod, please change if you would.

While I'll be vehemently pulling for my "other" nfl team - jags - I know it's Rocky I.

Look for the Pats to try and get up by 14 so that the Jags won't use their running game. It'll be on Garrard vs Brady. However, if Brady is truly touched by God, Garrard is as well and will give him a run for his money. Garrard has to have designed runs early to keep the Pats on their heels. The 4th and 2 play last week was great but I was screaming for this run the whole game.

Go JAGS!

I just think to many pundits and Pats haters have jumped on the Jags bandwagon because of the whole "OMG it's all about running the ball and playing defense!" type of stuff.

Ask yourself this, if the Jags are so good, why can't they win their division and why do they almost never beat the Colts..another heavy offensive team?

The Pats will do what they always do best. Take away the strongest part of your game. For the Jags, that means shut down their run game and make David Garrard beat you with his arm.

If the Jags are going to have a fighting chance, Garrard is going to have to play the game of his life.

Yep totally agree and I highly doubt Garrard can carry that team.

I predict Brady will leave the game early in the 3rd Q with a bad case of anal bleeding. Jags 27 Patriots 21

I also don't think anyone has noticed...the Jags pass rush isn't really very good.

Did you notice the ridiculous holding that the Jags perpetrated (uncalled) on that 4th and 2? SHould've made it 4th and 12, and we'd be preparing for the Steelers this week.

I don't dislike the Jags, and I do dislike the Steelers, but that was a bad non-call that helped decide the game.

Right. THEY CAN STOP THE RUN, I've been hearing all week.

Great, so why will we try? We'll just throw it over their heads until their heads are spinning...

Actually, Baltimore had them beat. The timeout saved the Pats, it was over.
