Death in the Office Place, How to cope?

After being at work for 5 minutes today, we all received the most horrible news. One of our co-workers died last night. She seemed to be in good health, and was in her 40's.

Now I cant do any work. I'm just sitting here and I dont know what to do. Has this ever happened to you before?

Its just been very somber. Weird for a friday.

The lady who passed away was best friends with another lady who worked here, she is taking it very hard. She had to go to the Coroner's office to identify the body (I think thats why she went there) and she also had to go to her apartment to get her dog and take her to the animal shelter.

Its hard to even joke around. The worst is that one girl who works here went on a mini-cruise on Thursday and isn't coming back until Tuesday, so she won't know anything until Monday afternoon I guess.

It really, really sucks.

Yeah, sorry. On the Internet, it's easy to forget that everyone is a real person. It would be a hard situation, I'm sure.

I generally stay out of prayer request threads because I find prayers useless and dumb. I feel sorry for the person, as I feel sorry for you, but you did not make your intent clear on what you wanted out of this. I had a co-worker that died, there is actually a thread somewhere in the archives that I created. I eventually did take something off his desk, a stapler and a couple sharpies I believe.

Thanks.

When I first posted this thread this morning, I was distraught and couldn't get any work done.

As they say, time heals all wounds. I've found it easier to work since this morning, but its still just this looming cloud over everyone's head.

I was just wondering if anyone had advice, but I've found that its gotten a little easier as the day has passed.

Does she have kids? We "adopted" the kids for Christmas the year my co-worker died and gave them lots of presents in his memory. If no kids, you could donate to a charity or something that you know she would like. Something to honor her memory I guess.

Or if she was married you could take her husband out and give him a Blow job, you know .. to help him get over it.
