Twice within a 3 mile stretch on my way home I had some blue hair pull out in front of me. Apparently a horn does me no good either... need to stop by the hardware store and pick up some ball bearings for when the horn isn't enough.

Well to some degree that's also why you always have to have your head on a swivel. To anticipate what other drivers are going to do. Personally I'd love to ride out here but I don't because the drivers are that poor.

I don't ride nearly as often as I use to because I simply don't trust anyone anymore.

I had a guy change lanes right into me once. I was at his A-pillar - no blind spot to it. He just came on over and dumped me. I can't count how many people have been yacking on cell-phones when they've pulled in front of me. I finally had my first 'texting while driving' experience a few weeks ago and haven't been back on it since then.

People are only getting worse. I have the camaro, if it's nice I'll drive it. Ultimately, I just can't justify hopping on the bike much anymore with all the assholes out there that are just too busy with themselves to care about watching for a fellow human being.

Bicycles, too. I try to stick to trails on my mtn bike, but I really want to get a cross bike. Watch the **** out!

Active duty military are actually required to wear them. If they aren't wearing them and go splat SGLI doesn't pay their family's claim.

people who pay for motorcycle deaths aren't even the people who die. They knew the rules, it is the people who have to live with killing people and the dead dudes family that have to pay the real price. All for some jolly's that a wolf shirt and some papst could have provided

The second sentence is incorrect. There are some VA benefits that would not be granted but compensation from SGLI is NOT one of them.....that is a very common misconception though. And today a reflective PT belt in hours of darkness or a bright colored long sleeved shirt in daylight hours is sufficient.

I suspect, Phobia that you are referencing DIC (Dependency Indemnity Compensation). In order for dependents to be awarded that a service members death must not have been due to their own misconduct.
