Is Veach the Mahomes of GM's? Pretty insane when you have a tandem of Mahomes, Reid, and Veach making all of the decisions.

What a time to be alive.

I am asking you, for one thread, to shelve the Angry Internet Guy demeanor.

You're spending your days angry on a message board. There's a better life ahead.

I think his acquisitions have been godlike, but I also feel the players he decides to let go are also just as key.

At any point in this, our team could've been derailed by resigning Tyrann Mathieu, OBJ, or Tyreek to big money, but he didn't blink (we dodged a bullet with OBJ not signing that mega extension). Hardman, Juju, Watkins, and Pringle were let go at the right time.

He just makes incredibly solid decisions and has a very shrewd plan every offseason to address our points of weakness. In Veach I Trust is a saying for a reason, because its hard to disagree with the decisions he makes.

It's deliberate. For whatever reason, Direckshun thinks this bizarre persona of hyper analytical pessimist dashed with a touch of smug aloof elitism will help compensate for the fact that no one considers his football takes seriously.

Need to add Spags name to that list. I’m positive he has an effect on who we draft defensively. And whoever our DB scout is, is a BMF! Hits it Outta the park every time!

Long long way from those Bob “werthers” Sutton defenses. I love how aggressive Spags is, and dude just has an eye for certain situations.

I think what's even more impressive than the 2022 draft is Veach having BACK TO BACK elite drafts with 2021 and 2022. Even teams like the Jets can come out with a good draft once in awhile but to get two elite back to back is even more impressive.

He did what most GMs can easily do, and spent huge dollars at two of the five positions. Veach gets credit for Thuney and (eventually) Taylor, but most GMs can do that kinda thing.

What Veach did at the other three positions is what separates him from the pack. Notching an All Pro center at the bottom of the second round, notching a Pro Bowl caliber guard in the 6th, and inking an effective LT for peanuts in May, are all ungodly accomplishments. If a GM can pull one of those things off, you're doing pretty well. The fact he's done it at all three positions is ridiculous.
If it were that easy then how come there are so many porous OLines in the league?

Our LB's were terrible in 2020/2021. Veach has turned it into one of the better LB units in the league.
The secondary was torn down and rebuilt in one off-season.

Now it's slowly looking like he's building a good DL around Chris Jones as insurance.

That's what I'm not afraid of trading Chris Jones. That's how much trust I have in the guy and our staff in general.
This can't be overstated enough. I swear every opposing fan board I read constantly brings this up in defense of Veach, especially when their QBs are getting abused. It's basically "Mahomes got beat up in the SB because of their line and they go out next year and aggressively address it, why can't our GM"?
