Imagine what the L in 2008 to the Giants was like. The fallout must've been unbelievable.

One thing I was thinking about this morning...you know the Bengals put 24 against a Bills D that is ravaged with injuries. They have an elite QB and 1 elite WR and 2 really good ones, and a really good RB.

I don't think we are to far off...

Switching gears a bit but still more perspective:

We’re already sitting at 7 wins. We’ve got the Patriots and Packers left, along with the Raiders twice. No NFL game is a gimme but we should absolutely go 4-0 in those games. That gives us 11 wins there alone. All we have to do is split against PHI, BUF, CIN and LAC and that puts us at 13-4 and probably the #1 seed.

The way the defense is playing......I'd think they could get to 14 wins.

Eventually Rice will become a force and we will have some production out of the receivers, but until then, it us incumbent on Andy Reid to make the best possible use out of the best personnell he has, most importantly the angry dude wearing number 10.

Unfortunately, Andy is more focused on the passing game than his backs, no matter how terrible the results.

Keep in mind, Andy used to ritualistically ignore Jamaal Charles in favor of calling passes to studs like Junior Hemingway, so anyone thinking that Skyy Moore is all of a sudden gonna get less looks than Pacheco doesn't really know their Andy Reid history.

Gotta get 10 involved. Like called runs. Not this rpo bullshit, line up and shove the ball down their ****ing throat and get a real playaction threat to free up Kelce.

And for ****s sake just give it to 10 on 3rd and 1, especially if you've just ran for 9 with him on 1st and second.

Putting 15 out there to throw 50 times with this personnel is a recipe for disaster.

In a league built to....not let that happen. Look around at teams that are good. Usually they have a 3ish year run, top out, then start losing talent and end up going back down into missing the playoffs and kinda start over. Usually there's a window, look at the Bills, etc.

This group just keeps winning games. Every year.

I get we want the offense to be better. I'm sure they do as well. But damn guys.....we're kinda in the golden age here. They're gonna end up winning 14 games this year. We'll bitch and moan our way to hosting another AFCCG at the Head.
Agreed - I think the reason you don't see teams have longer "dynasty" runs is because they either overspend in free agency and the team falls apart (LA Rams) or they draft poorly. Very rarely are teams successful at keeping core ($$$) talent and bringing in cheap young talent.

Just amazing when you really look at the Chiefs starters/significant contributors

Sky Moore - 2022 2nd Round Pick
Isiah Pacheco - 2022 7th Round Pick
Clyde Edwards Helaire - 2020 1st Round Pick
Creed Humphrey - 2021 2nd Round Pick
Trey Smith - 2021 6th Round Pick
Kadarius Toney - 2021 1st Round Pick (Giants)
Rashee Rice - 2023 2nd Round Pick
Mecole Hardman - 2019 2nd Round Pick*
Noah Gray - 2021 5th Round Pick
Clyde Edwards Helaire - 2020 1st Round Pick

10

George Karlaftis - 2022 1st Round Draft Pick
Mike Danna - 2020 5th Round Pick
FAU - 2023 1st Round Pick
Nick Bolton - 2021 1st Round Pick
Willie Gay - 2020 2nd Round Pick
Leo Chenal - 2022 3rd Round Pick
Jaylen Watson - 2022 7th Round Pick
L'Jarius Sneed - 2020 4th Round Pick
Trent McDuffie - 2022 1st Round Pick
Nic Jones - 2023 7th Round Pick
Bryan Cook - 2022 2nd Round Pick
Joshua Williams - 2022 4th Round Pick
Chamarri Connor - 2023 4th Round Pick

13

Almost half the roster is made up of players on their rookie deals that are starting or having significant playing time. Hardman is the only exception on this list and he may as well still be on his rookie deal with the $$ the Chiefs are paying for his services. This is astounding.

Humans are wired to focus on danger (or the negatives). You literally just need to realize that there are obvious positives. In fact more positives than negatives.

31 other fan bases would take what we have experienced the last 5.5 years. Think about that for a minute. Yea I get pissed at times when we do dumb shit but results speak for themselves.

People forget this team has rarely won pretty. Yea when Mahomes was putting up 35 a game the defense was giving up 32 it seemed.

We are really lucky even though we stress about it.

And therein lies the problem.

We KNOW that it's likely NEVER going to get better than this. This window is not infinite. So gaffes and screw ups are magnified, because the bottom line right now is win the superbowl or the season was a failure.

Missed opportunities like Superbowl 55, and the following AFC championship collapse in the second half, are made so much worse because in this "Golden Era" of Chiefs football, that was a better than average shot at winning it all that was squandered.

So, I'm assuming the parenthesis mean it's not the golden era in your opinion?

Those are quotation marks last time I checked.

(Parenthesis)

"Quotation mark"

Your inability to tell the difference makes me question why I would waste the time to even respond to the question.

It sucks there are so few great NFL games every season, so in that regard I get it... the AFCCG/NFCCG and SB are supposed to be the pinnacle of sports and sometimes, like SB 55, the NFL completely shits itself with ref ball (and of course the offensive line was decimated).

As far as "SB win or it was a failure"... hell, if you look back on :13 and think **** that game, they didn't win the SB... or say the Eagles had won, so the whole Burrowhead win doesn't matter.

Well, that sounds pretty damn miserable as a fan.

I’ll take losing in The Super Bowl every year over what we had before and be ecstatic.
