Someone explain to me what makes Aaron Curry worth the 3rd pick?

Since I'm seeing people starting to lean that way I really want to know...he's not a rusher 9 1/2 sacks in 4 years...he has nearly as many INT's as he does sacks over the course of his college career...

Does this mean he's a bad player no it doesn't, but the type of LB he is does not make him worth a top 5 pick. Fathom this Ernie Sims was taken 10 as a traditional 4-3 OLB he's a very nice player...is he a difference maker up in Detroit, he's not. And it can be easily argued that he's more naturally gifted than Curry is..the OLB position in a 4-3 is not a game changing core position.

Not to mention you could sign the #1 LB on the market of FA for half of what you'd have to pay Curry to do the same thing.

So many questions.

Please don't play stupid anyone with a quarter of a brain can look up and see how much stronger Sanchez arm is in comparison to Leinart.

I've looked at the video you posted - I don't see anything terribly impressive about his arm. On his long tds, his receiver is always running 5 yds away from the nearest defender and has plenty of time to adjust to the ball.

I also haven't seen anybody off ChiefsPlanet say Sanchez has anything but an average arm. I'm open to any new info on this not authored by someone named "Mecca" or ""Hamas"" or the like.

1. Matthew Stafford, Georgia: The former Bulldog completed more than 60 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,459 yards with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. As a polished pocket passer with outstanding arm strength and touch, Stafford is at ease directing a pro-style offense. Though he occasionally gets sloppy with his footwork and fundamentals in the pocket, Stafford is the most "pro ready" prospect at the position and will eventually develop into a quality starter.

2. Mark Sanchez, Southern California: The Pac-10's leading passer surprised many with his decision to enter the draft after only one full season as the Trojans' starter. While scouts will downgrade him for his lack of game experience, Sanchez is highly regarded as a pro prospect due to his outstanding physical tools and leadership ability. His spectacular Rose Bowl performance (28-of-35 for 413 passing yards with four touchdowns) is why some view him as a potential franchise-type quarterback.

3. Josh Freeman, Kansas State: As a talented playmaker with a big arm and prototypical size (6-foot-6, 248 pounds), Freeman is likely to shoot up draft boards if he has a strong showing at the combine.

Note absence of any superlatives for Sanchez' arm.

1. Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia: When he throws for the scouts, they will be in awe.

8. Mark Sanchez, QB, USC: He's accurate, poised and his arm is plenty strong. The knock on him will be that he was a one-hit wonder. Don't believe it.

"In awe" vs. "plenty strong." Pete Prisco couldn't even wind up the hype machine for Sanchez.

The only person who thinks Sanchez has a shitty arm is Todd McShay and he was doing it to try to support his Sanchez to the Jets theory to play to the New York market..

But sure Jason you know more than a forum that follows the draft 365.

His arm isn't as strong as Staffords if that's your point great 99% of the NFL doesn't have an arm that strong. No one thinks he has a better arm than Stafford...the point is his arm is strong in relation to being able to play in the NFL.

Are you just trying to be a reerun today?

Mark Sanchez's Scouting Report
By Matt McGuire

Strengths: Solid size and adequate bulk ... Impressive statistical production in junior season ... Extremely fluid athlete ... Outstanding mobility ... Great pocket awareness and knows how to step up into and around the pocket to get the ball off ... Has the sixth sense for the pass rush ... Strong arm and can make all the NFL throws, but it isn't elite.

Thanks proving the point.....his arm is strong there ya go.

Are you done going to pull up every scouting report you can find now? He doesn't have the strongest arm in the world no but it is strong...and if you think having the best arm makes someone good I bet you are a huge Russell fan.
