The Chiefs 2006 first round pick, selection #20 overall, is now in his 3rd season as a starter.

Has he failed, met, or exceeded your expectation of him so far in his career?

I call him a fail, but have to preface that with the fact that he doesn't exactly have any help alongside him. Offenses can concentrate on stopping him. We have a DT playing out of position on the other side, and two young DTs in the middle that haven't really learned how to play in this league and have not met their potential yet. That said, Hali certainly doesn't seem like the same player he was as a rookie.

i think Hali could be a nice piece, on a good defense. If the rest of the d-line could do better against the run, or we had linebackers who played the run well it would take some pressure off.

you can be a pass-only end in this league but not on a defense like we have.

The Chiefs drafted Hali who was a polished player who had tapped all of his potential already he wasn't getting any better.

It wasn't like drafting a physical freak manchild who had every athletic skill you could ask for and then teaching him technique, you can teach technique and make a athletic freak better, you can't teach a guy who knows technique to have more natural talent.

Ok I got ya, and I agree 100% either way I see him in the failure column as well. The real bag of shit is that we ahve nobody in the wings or on the horizon.

I think he can be servicable if he doesn't have to be THE guy.

Hali would make a nice backup, I guess. It's like we drafted Eric Hicks in the 1st round. When the heck does his contract run out, anyway?

Hali is an awful run defender, and an average passrusher. He is a below average DE imo.

I really like Hali, but he needs to start producing soon. I agree I think hes a good DE on the other side, but not going up against premier LTs. We'll see what he does the rest of the season and im rooting for him.

Is he really that big of a bust? I always thought he was a pretty decent DE but I have only watched a handful of Queeef games.

considering where he was picked, I would say yes, a disappointment.

Had he been a 3rd rounder I think his performance would be more in line with where he was taken and the expectations associated with such.

I wouldn't say he is a "bust" because he is what a lot of fans and experts expected him to be. But the so called "Eye for talent" Herm Edwards thought he was something special.

8 and 7 1/2 sacks from a LDE is pretty good.
