OU clearly deserves to be ranked #2 at this point. Some pundits will say, oh Ou lost to Texas. Well, that may be true, but they went into Austin and lost. It wasn't on a neutral field. If it was Texas as OU, game might have been different.

With that said OU has beaten alot of good teams including CINCY and TCU. If OU wins out I don't see how they do not play in the BCS National Championship.

OU/Texas game is held in a neutral site every year. Nice try though.

I've always thought that playing in the Cotton Bowl isn't necessarily a neutral field since it's still in Texas. Maybe they should play it every other year in Stillwater or Tulsa.

Yeah like Kemper is a "neutral" court for KU. I do not have a college team because I never attended one. Timing of a loss has always played a part in rankings. I could give two shits in a bucket about OU they lost a close game against UT in Texas and are playing outstanding ball now (destroyed the team that beat UT) Years ago I recall the Raiders (pro ball) getting beat by the Redskins during the regular season 38-35. They met in the Superbowl and the Raiders killed them 38-9. Right now OU is playing great ball the best in the country IMO. Less a playoff this is how it is.

I didn't say they weren't, I was responding to your comment that OU's OoC wasn't impressive.

Come on, most of us knew Clemson was overrated. Not saying it wasn't a good win, but come on.

Yeah, but that deeper at the top was almost exclusively in one division, which meant they all played one another. 3 teams top 10, 4 teams top 12. That equates to more big games to judge those teams by, not just the spread by how much they won by.

Look, the SEC has been dominant for a long time, probably will continue to be, they just are not this year. OU's schedule is frankly more impressive, and if they win next week, it only reinforces that. You really shouldn't have to worry about the beauty contest this week anyway, you'll get your shot.

Any other game and I'd agree with you. But the game in Dallas is clearly split down the middle in terms of fans. And it's exactly(or within like 10 miles) of being halfway between Norman and Austin.

Make sense? The only reason it doesn't "make sense" to you is because you decided where to stop the merry-go-round. T-Tech beats texas, OU massacres T-Tech, OU T-Tech occurs later than OU-Texas, "supposedly" reflecting how good teams are at the present time. This is the BCS, it isn't supposed to "make sense", its a judgement call, and right now OU looks better than Texas, the mid-season result (which OU led til midway through the 4th quarter and lost a key LB) notwithstanding.

By the way, I'm not an OU fan.

Norman is closer than Austin to the Cotton Bowl.

Good point.

Texas should be ranked ahead of Oklahoma who should be ranked ahead of Texas Tech who should be ranked ahead of Texas.

The transitive property in football makes perfect sense.
