Yeah, and yesterday it was the ****ing refs who kept screwing us.

Keep changing the narrative to fit your ends.

We're good with obtuse messages at this point: we're sending a message...it's a process...the right 53...

I never once said the refs were ****ing us. I just said they were not making blatant holding calls on Philly. Not once did I say it was effecting the outcome. The most I said was it didn't help.

As with all things, I have an opinion, and my opinion is that Haley gave up.

With that said, I wonder if Haley did it to prove a point. I liked Haley going into the Oakland game, but over the last two weeks, Haley has had two of the worst back to back coaching performances in the history of the Chiefs.

What did he do that was so bad against Oakland? Did he make Cassel throw 2 pics? Did he make two guys jump on the QB and draw a personal foul?

Fatlock can cry that Haley isn't treating them like men all he wants. He needs to stick to his doublestuffs. This team isn't going to compete for a playoff spot anyway so this is exactly the time to pull stunts like this. You want to win? You have to learn how to block. You have to learn how to run the ball. 3 ****ing yards in 1 half is pathetic and I don't blame Haley one bit for what he did.

It isn't like we had 30 yards in the 1st half..we had 3. Three. Unacceptable, PERIOD! Dropping back to pass would have resulted in Cassel being broken into pieces.

I don't know what game Fatlock and some others watched, but I saw one that showed me our O line was there in name only. Had we dropped back, which is exactly what Philly wanted, we would be cussing about the picks Cassel threw or the fact that Brokie would be the starter for the next several weeks cause of Cassel being hurt.
It was a message to the team, in my opinion.

Football is really a pretty simple game. The "bigs" execute their blocking assignments and the RBs take the ball where "they ain't". And, if an NFL offense can't run, they can't do much of anything else, either.

I counted 18 yards rushing in the first half. But, either way, it was a pitiable performance by the o-line and the RBs. Just terrible. I think Haley said, "Screw this. We're going to run the football until these guys figure it out."

I can think of several head coaches who might be fired on the spot after pulling a stunt like that. It was a bold decision. Crazy as hell, but bold. A real challenge to the fans, too. It demonstrates to me that he and Pioli care more about the long-term success of this franchise than most people realize. But, I imagine that the offense realizes it. They do now, anyway.

That is the one thing that I had thought of that excused this playcalling. I just don't know if that is my 'rationalization' or the reality.

We will see as things go along.

I am really dissapointed to see the mental mistakes over the last two weeks. And, frankly, Haley deserves more credit for the loss against Oakland than any player on the team.

Again, why is the loss to Oakland on Haley and not the players?

Not going for it on 4th down near the goal line and then kicking an onsides kick? Stupid.

Not getting the playcalls into the QB and having to use two timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties and then not having an opportunity to kick a field goal at the end of the half.

And, the penalties..... the ridiculous penalties.

I might give you the 4th down call. The Onside kick did not hurt us at all. The play at the end of the half was on Cassel.

And again, penalties are rarely the fault of the coach. Haley did not make players jump on a QB and draw a PF.

So when I say it was a message to the team, you say it was "giving up in the 3rd." When Fax says it was a message to the team you are in agreement.

Why can't they care about the long-term success and try to win regular season games at the same time?

I don't mind playing for the future, but I don't want them demonstrating to the team that it's OK to bend over and drop your pants and take it when it's obvious we're not going to win. That's a defeatist attitude, despite whatever message you're sending.

I don't think that was the message. He for sure didn't tell them it was ok to bend over and take it cause we were losing. If anything he said, we are losing but your asses are going to keep running the ****ing ball until you figure it out.

And they never figured it out.

Effective message.

Yesterday was an embarrassment from a coaching standpoint.

That is your opinion. And I am shocked that inside of 3 plays or so they didn't figure it out. Which arguably I would disagree to a point since we did have some good runs, save the penalties that ruined them.
