The Greatest Movie Franchises of All Time - Championship

Links to preceding threads:

You can view the entire tournament bracket here.

Please vote for the franchise in each pair that you feel is most deserving of being in consideration for the Greatest Movie Franchise of All Time. I'll put one of these up every day or two as we go along. So vote!

Possible Concerns and Responses:
  1. A franchise I like isn't on the list! Too bad. Nominations are closed. This is just a fun offseason diversion, but feel free to complain in the thread if it will make you feel better.
  2. There's something on the list that I don't even think is a franchise! Don't vote for it.
  3. There's something on the list that I don't recognize. Yeah, there are a few that I don't recognize either. If you feel generous, look it up and determine if you think it's worthy. Or just don't vote for it. Either option is allowed.
  4. The seeding seems weird (or there's something I have no idea how it got in there). The seeding is based on total estimated tickets from Box Office Mojo, but some older franchises were randomly seeded since we don't have any data available about their ticket sales. Again, if you don't feel something is deserving, don't vote for it!

Yeah, timing is a part of it. It’s no coincidence that this poll is closing on the opening weekend of Endgame (gotta get those last minutes extra votes to ensure victory). But whatever, it’s an Internet BB poll.

I’m more sad about the fact that the majority of my fellow Chiefs fans on this BB believe that it IS the greatest movie franchise of all time.

Look. MCU has done some solid movies, no argument. But to have MCU as the greatest movie franchise of all time over some of the others that have been in this contest is an absolute joke. It makes this place looked reeruned. MCU didn’t change the way people make films, it didn’t create a new genre, it doesn’t really have a true ‘iconic’ character (actor) that will stand the test of time. It will be remembered as a fun set of movies with some really cool special effects. Nothing more, nothing less. But I digress . . . . .

With all that said, comic book nerds rise and enjoy your moment.
Remembered? I’ve forgotten them already. Or at least confused them with the Transformers.

Even if true the stories do not connect, let alone intertwine and converge at a focal point.

The MCU perfected the shared universe approach. I can't even think of any shared universe attempts on this level prior to the MCU. Their success has spawned the DCEU, the failed Universal monsterverse, and now the Godzilla-Kong monsterverse as well.

RDJ's Iron Man is also pretty damned iconic. Based on this board's demographics and nostalgia, I wouldn't think he'd win, but he'd certainly belong if DaFace started a Most Iconic Movie Character tournament.

I don't vote for movies that don't use real words for their titles.

Star Wars, as a franchise, ****ing sucks.

2 good movies, 4 if you squint. More legitimately bad movies than good ones. Marvel spins out 4 watchable flicks like it's taking a dump and has maybe 2 real misses on the roster.

This is easy.

If MCU had come out over 30 years ago, and SW was the new flick, I don't think there would be a comparison. SW all the way.
