John Dorsey appreciation thread

This is the non-talked about connection between the Browns and Chiefs.

John Dorsey drafted Patrick Mahomes.

John Dorsey drafted Baker Mayfield.

Both QBs now face each other in the divisional round.

Meanwhile, John Dorsey was fired from both franchises and is sitting at home watching.

Let's appreciate this guy's eye for talent - even if he has a penchant for giving huge contract to guys with no spirit!

There's never a room for middle ground.

When it comes to this team, right now, BOTH Dorsey AND Veach are responsible.
Reid made the trade.

Dorsey had zero interaction with Sean McDermott, who coached for Reid for a decade, then coached for Reid's long time buddy in Ron Rivera before being recommended by Reid for the Buffalo gig.

And before anyone screams "Tyreek Hill!", it was Ryne Nutt that scouted him and presented him to Reid and Dorsey. They needed Clark Hunt to sign off on the selection due to Hill's background, so that was a team effort all the way around.

Dorsey ****ing passed on Bradley Chubb and instead took a ****ing corner, which was one of the dumbest draft decisions of the past decade.

Myles Garrett and Bradley Chubb could have owned the AFC but Dorsey was too shortsighted to see it.

I guess we've already forgotten just how bad this defense atrophied under Dorsey?

The guy has obviously got skills. Look at where we were before he got here and look at the Browns as well.

No GM hits every pick. That's a stupid way to criticize him. He brought in a ton of talent while he was here. I'm not going to bother writing all the names but the list is significant and it obviously includes Mahomes. Yes Veach scouted him out and Reid was probably screaming to grab Mahomes but Dorsey got the trade done and he could have vetoed anything they said..

Bottom line is wthout Dorsey we don't win SB last year and we are not in position we are this year. Guy deserves to get some appreciation.

He left and never said one bad word about Chiefs. I don't get the hate.

John Dorsey had Andy Reid, who ran the Eagles Personnel department for 13 years and drafted multiple Hall of Famers of his own, over his shoulder the entire time. Any offensive lineman pick had Reid's hands all over it. Travis Kelce was a Reid pick, who personally called him and said "Are you gonna **** this up?".

Dorsey had ZERO to do with Mahomes and was fired less than 2 months after the selection was made.
Kelce and Mahomes will be HOFrs drafted by Dorsey in only 5 years. You give credit to all these other guys but Dorsey like with Carl Peterson I'm sure he had people in his department help him decide on guys like Thomas and Gonzalez.

Also Dorsey unlike Peterson built a team that won a superbowl here.

Another thing I find funny about this board/Dorsey is they point out his handling of the cap. For YEARS it was quite common to read how THE CAP IS A MYTH

Are you arguing that a GM should only take ownership of draft picks that he personally scouts?

Yeah, he completely ****ED the Chiefs with his shitty handling of Hali, Houston, Berry and Maclin.

I’m saying the Andy Reid is the person that’s responsible for Fisher, LDT, Fulton and Kelce while it’s been well documented that Veach was 95% responsible for Mahomes.

It’s hilarious because for years, CP claimed that Reid was in charge of personnel but after Dorsey was fired, a bunch of dipshits now claim that it was Dorsey, mainly based on the Chiefs underwhelming 2018 draft.

And Veach came over with Reid, Mike Borganzi was already in KC, as were a few of the scouts.

He did choose them. Dorsey had final say on all draft picks. Did Veach and Reid push for those picks? I'm sure they did but Dorsey had final say.

If you want to play that game Dorsey was reportedly the scout that convinced Packers to choose Rodgers but end of day Packers GM at the time made the pick.

Give it up, they will never give in to that position. Dorsey is responsible for all the bad draft picks and Andy/Veach are responsible for the good picks. That's what happens around here when someone leaves the organization.
