Some perspective

So the Chiefs have been good for 10 years. Andy has been here that long and they've just been a real consistent good team in the NFL. Averaged 12 wins a year since Andy has been here.

Then they get Mahomes and are averaging 13 or so. They've turned over the roster and built an elite offense, turned over the roster and built an elite defense and are still winning.

In a league built to....not let that happen. Look around at teams that are good. Usually they have a 3ish year run, top out, then start losing talent and end up going back down into missing the playoffs and kinda start over. Usually there's a window, look at the Bills, etc.

This group just keeps winning games. Every year.

I get we want the offense to be better. I'm sure they do as well. But damn guys.....we're kinda in the golden age here. They're gonna end up winning 14 games this year. We'll bitch and moan our way to hosting another AFCCG at the Head.

Missed opportunities like Superbowl 55, and the following AFC championship collapse in the second half, are made so much worse because in this "Golden Era" of Chiefs football, that was a better than average shot at winning it all that was squandered.
It's not Madden, and the other teams are trying to win, too.

This is 100 percent a Golden Era. How many 5-year periods in NFL history are better than this? 3 Super Bowl appearances, 2 wins, 5 AFC title games, 75-21 overall.

If this isn't a Golden Age, what the **** is?

As far as "SB win or it was a failure"... hell, if you look back on :13 and think **** that game, they didn't win the SB... or say the Eagles had won, so the whole Burrowhead win doesn't matter.

Well, that sounds pretty damn miserable as a fan.
I’ll take losing in The Super Bowl every year over what we had before and be ecstatic.

Interesting analysis by Nick Wright.

I may agree with him. This formula won the Patriots a lot of Super Bowls

If you want some perspective

One side is getting criticized for saying our WRs haven't been very good. But believe the blame is rooted there and that the problem with the others is simply not elevating the play of a group not performing well.

Meanwhile those same people are lobbing grenades at embree and nagy (not just bullets), and mahomes and Reid are taking criticism way beyond "they need to better." It's more like wtf are these guys doing level of criticism and other guys are doing their job, and they aren't.

Both sides are assigning blame. It doesn't make you less pessimistic because you spread the same amount of blame in 20 different directions

I resigned to never seen my Chiefs in the Super Bowl let alone watching them win two. Can't complain.

I would expect the Hall of Fame coach and the Hall of Fame QB to be expected to elevate those around them, like we saw them do last year.

Just me though.

Constructive criticism... drop the whole narrative and sides thing. You're not particularly good at summarizing all sides of a debate as you often crudely split shit down the middle and call it good, with a sprinkle of hyperbole that makes you sound even more disconnected to people's true opinions, much less adding any sort of nuance to make people believe you understand their true feelings on things. Every time I see one of these I think... well, that might apply to like one person.

Unless you're trolling for attention, which in that case it's just obnoxious.

There is a whole thread where we've normalized pulling all 22s to show where mahomes is ****ing up and pushing the narrative that WRs are getting open and mahomes missing the reads. That he's playing heroball. That he's playing mid, some would say not even top 10. Another thread blasting nagy. Not everyone is participating but they're not pushing back either.

Sorry but that doesn't compute for me. Just a year ago we would fight anyone who dared put burrow or Lamar in the same league as him. The Patriots were mentioned earlier and y'know what, even at Brady's worst they'd fight anyone who wouldn't say Brady is wicked awesome.

It's not to say mahomes doesn't deserve criticism. But y'know what, we were told to never ever question veach because he never misses. I don't know why we're supposed to just accept how casually we are scapegoating mahomes. No it isn't trolling. The same way it bothers you that people don't appreciate this teams greatness, it bothers me that people would question mahomes' greatness. Because that's us. The rest of the world is asking why he doesn't have WRs. We’re the ones who act like mahomes has what he needs and he’s not delivering.

That is not hyperbole. It is not one person. I know you’re a reasonable guy and surely you find that eagerness to cut down mahomes odd. Even if you don’t agree with my other shit which is fine
