If that’s pure speculation then so is the argument of “if Poles didn’t want Bienemy…then that’s telling”. We don’t know that he didn’t. He could have just wanted Eberflus more.

Right?
All i said was that EB wasn’t his guy, and I noted that he didn’t even get an interview.

Pretty sure you've filled your punch card ignoring this point made by SEVERAL people in this thread.

And you still haven't answered the question.

Why:

1/32 NFL HC's are black.

Only 15 black HCs have been hired for 129 openings since the Rooney Rule was created.

Or are you unwilling to believe that there might be a problem with NFL hiring practices?

Because I don’t think that it’s because of race.

If it’s not because of race, then there’s not really a problem.

Just like there’s not a problem with a lack of black RBs, WRs, and DBs.

Maybe, just maybe, black coaches need to be better if we want to see more of them.

Maybe white people are overwhelmingly better coaches, and black players are overwhelmingly better players. Why would that being the reality be so hard to accept?

There is a legitimate problem with the hiring practices and race in the NFL.

It’s why the Rooney rule was instituted and their handing out draft picks to teams for giving minorities chances in their organization so that they can get HC jobs.

Just because it doesn’t work on making it better….doesn’t mean that there isn’t a problem.

And no…it doesn’t mean that all 32 teams do it but it’s an issue if one or two teams do.

LOL too many teams.

15 guys hired in 20 years over 129 openings is too many.

Fair enough. I respect your opinion, and as I say it's hard to know the reasons for sure. I definitely think there's a problem with hiring and, I suspect, a lot of wasted talent as a result.

I mean if there are teams with overtly racist hiring practices you'd hope and expect it to f*** them down the line.

Do you feel that there is a legitimate problem with the drafting and free agency process because there’s a lack of white RBs, WRs, or DBs?

You’ve been slowly indoctrinated to believe that any time there aren’t a certain amount of black peoples for a particular job/profession that it’s a problem. Why?

Life is complicated. Sometimes there are no solutions to perceived problems. I think the Rooney Rule is a perfect example of that. You could argue that it’s only made things worse.

That argument is beyond stupid.

Why are there more white offensive linemen? See how stupid that sounds. You’re better than that.

I was talking about GMs and HCs.

Almost half the NFL has had a black HC or GM in the last 10-15 years.

There is plenty in the pipeline there for at least 1 team to make a safe or skip hire.

Beyond that, You asked for examples of clear cut talent. Who the hell was Sean mcvay before he leaped up the ranks? Who was Brandon Staley? Who was joe judge and Dan Campbell before they got skip level jobs? They could very well be sitting in these organizations. Some just don’t get a chance to skip level. Some may be sitting in an organization that underuses their talents. For whatever reason black positions coaches don’t move up the organization nearly as fast or often.

Poles and kwesi are reliant on the pipelines others have built. Ballard built the organization that allowed eberflus to flow to the top. You know what else black GMs in Chicago and Detroit did? They hired black assistants. Detroit hired duce Staley who was furious about getting passed up over sirianis inexperience.” And a black dc. Chicago hired Alan Williams as their DC. You know what else you’re seeing? Black coaches climb up the defensive ranks with many of them leading their teams to the playoffs. So no, I think you are absolutely wrong on a few fronts. The pipeline was light before but is starting to shine now that it’s getting a chance. It has nothing to do with lack of talent it has to do with lack of chances.
Good points.

Umm no you just don’t understand the point.

Neither of those things are because of racism, regardless of whether it’s OL/QB or RB/WR/DB.

Why is it because of racism with coaches?

Why can’t we just ask whether coaching is like those things and for whatever reason there’s just more white coaches?

Here’s the sticking point. This shit isn’t one side or the other. The answer is not either “There’s blatant racism” or “there’s no racism”. The shit is in the middle.
