Fair enough. I concede that McDaniels definitely went spread-ward. Off topic, do you see him running a spread in Donkeytown with Tim Tebow?

LOL, well..... I never thought Herm was the answer, but I was willing to give him a chance. We both thought Herm would bring defense back to KC. Mea culpa on that one.

Q: will the Chiefs run a spread O in 2010? Is Haley looking for a Cards type O? We do not have the horses for that.

I think Denver is honestly the best possible situation for Tebow. I know we all like to mock McFistpump but Kyle Neckbeard was a below-average QB at best in Chicago; the only reason he was thought to be a viable option is because he wasn't nearly the ****-up that Rex Grossman was, and the Bears were in an 'Any port in a storm' scenario. In Denver, while Orton wasn't exactly Drew Brees, he wasn't exactly a horrifically awful QB either. Josh McDaniels knows how to coach that position, for all his other questionable moves as a HC. I don't think he'll rush Tebow into action, and I think no other player on Denver's roster is going to have as much coaching and help as Tebow will.

Time will tell of course, but right now, I'd say the chances of Tebow being an NFL success, or at the very least, not an NFL failure, are the greatest in Denver. If he were to have gone to Buffalo or Jacksonville, I'd wager he'd be playing QB for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in two years.

I think his input has been removed from almost every aspect of the offensive philosophy.

Haley's idea of offense is gone. Out the window.

That's the whole idea. You draft players who can play a number of positions and then you don't have to replace a stud at position A or D, just an underpaid guy asked to play 2 or 3 positions...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Really?
This is still the same Todd Haley that fired Chan Gailey right before the 2009 season so he could run 'his' offense. I hope you are right, but I somehow doubt it.

You don't have Charles and Jones on your team and then run a spread. You don't draft a TE like Moeaki if you are going spread. This team might have some 5 receiver formations and look to get the defense to cover the whole field, but we're not a spread any more than we were with Trent Green and Priest Holmes.

That is really what I am saying. The reason for Cassel's sub-par performance last year centered around the idea that he didn't have any talent around him. He has been given talent. Damn near everywhere. And I like the talents of a lot of the guys we selected. The ball is in his court now. They sold us a bill of goods last year that said he was a top 10 QB in this league. We should see this fall if that is a true statement or not.

There will be all sorts of excuses. Just wait...

1. He's started for only two full seasons. Give him time!
2. Yet another OC! He needs consistency!
3. McCluster is still learning the system!
4. He's throwing to tiny targets!

Rinse, repeat.

I can already see how it's going to play out next year. Cassel is going to put up his mediocre numbers once again, take a bunch of sacks and the front office is then going to blame Albert. The fans will scream for a LT in the 1st round and one more year for Cassel.

so if Albert and O'callaghan don't improve and Cassel has to run for his life again ... that's an excuse?
