Zac Taylor was like 9-23 before Burrow came along, now he's a goddamn genius. Meanwhile, stats show that black coaches aren't likely to get the time that Taylor (as one example) did to turn it around.

Culley won 4 games with Davis ****ing Mills and the worst roster in the league, and Flores (again, just two examples) was fired after back to back winning seasons where the owner wanted to tank - with a similarly shitty roster.
Taylor got 3 years. Same as Flores. He’s in the ****ing SB, while Flores missed out on the playoffs because he lost 7 games in a row.

Why would he have been fired after year 2 when Burrow got hurt?

What a terrible example to use.

Also, David Culley was a terrible hire form the beginning and everybody knew it. He was a bridge coach for a team that was a complete ****ing mess and couldn’t attract a decent HC.

Who here has said anything about forcing, dipshit?

Go back and read the thread with the coaching hires/fires. It was damn near UNIVERSAL here and pretty much everywhere on social, sports media etc. that Miami made a huge mistake and that Flores was by far the best candidate available.

Instead of being hired, he's gotten some sham interviews while guys with no HC experience. (and in Daboll's case a terrible resume before Josh Allen)

If the best man for the job was getting hired for each opening, do you REALLY think there would only be ONE black HC?

Are you saying black coaches shouldn't take HC gigs?

The owner wanted Flores to tank 3 years ago.

Not the last 2 years.

Flores didn’t get the job done on a team with high expectation this year. It’s really that simple.

If you lose 7 in a row in year 3, you’re probably getting fired.

If you go to the SB, your job is safe.

There’s no comparison between Flores and Taylor. JFC.

If you're just going to flat out ignore the differences in these two situations, I'm just going to quit trying to have a conversation with you.

Taylor got a 3rd year and the QB of his dreams.

Flores had back to back winning seasons with a POS QB he didn't want, and roster.

Flores had a better record in those first two years with a fraction of the talent, and certainly without a generational QB.

Then you might wanna read up on the Rooney Rule.

If it forced teams to hire black HC, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

From Flores’ lawyer.

“ What do you say to those who ask how Flores can charge racism if he was hired in the first place by a team with a Black GM?

This is something that we see, you know, all the time in all aspects of our society where a company or person will say, “How can we be racist if we have a Black person in this position or a Black person in some other position?” Again, you need not look any further than the numbers.”

I feel like you’re putting words in my mouth.

I don’t think he’s owed a second opportunity, but I don’t think his overall resume isn’t distinctively much different than guys like McDaniels and Dennis Allen.

This is such nonsense. NFL people want to win, period.

In fact, it's why they don't hire a bunch of old white guys, to play DB.

The Rooney rule is dumb. Teams obviously schedule token interviews. If you want to incentivize hiring black coaches, give teams a 4th round comp pick when they hire a coordinator and a 3rd round comp when they hire a HC.
