Here's a head start on the thread of the most grueling test of golf in the world. Winged Foot is a beast, it could be like watching

thrown amongst a pack of coyotes and pent-up Kansas wheat farmers.

One more thought--If I ever build a golf course, I think I should name it Clubbed Foot.

I just started playing 3 years ago.

Haven't been able to control a driver so I use a Orlimar vt830 3w to tee off. I also have a an older very thin faced Orlimar 3 wood to hit low boring drives and off the deck.

My irons are made by a local Overland Park company named Innovex. They are nice irons and have helped me a great deal. I carry Wilson 3 and 4 hybrids inplace of the long irons.

And a new Oddysey 2 ball putter.

I have a ways to go before I purchase any high dollar stuff.

So company wise, I'm all over the place.

Phil's made three pure over the top swings on the first three holes--two straight pulls and one weak cut. The result, he's now 5 back.

After a bogey on 1 we get to see the Saturday debut of the Colin Montgomery face. It's starting to look wide open. Phil needs to take advantage of 4-7, and try to be +2 by the time he leaves that stretch of holes. If he does so, he'll be in great shape.

Smart play by Phil, playing a 3/4 iron into the hole leaving himself a very realistic shot at birdie. Stricker stripes his tee shot on 2, and now the world's ugliest man stands over a kneeknocker for par, which curls in the right edge.

Monty hits a slanking yank short and left of the green on 2, he's looking at another bogey. Steve Stricken with no personality hits a good approach into 2 and it looks like he has a dip in.

Phil with a terrible, terrible drive on 5. His swing is normally long, but it is way, way too long. That backswing was almost Dalyesque. He absolutely must birdie this hole. It's a friggin gimmie bird.
