Oh, I'm on that safety bandwagon. Believe it. I dunno who else to pick, though. I wont be thrilled with a running back. We have a good, potentially Pro Bowl running back. We don't need to be handing another one 40 million.
Too many negatives.

If we win this game I say Mays or McClain has to be the pick. I also don't see Alexander going in the second round... but that might be because I'm not a Mizzou Fan.

I just read every post in this thread and there's 1 thing that I can't understands....
Why are these posts in this thread? How the **** did this turn into a draft thread? ![]() FWIW, I think keg is right. As nice as spiller would be, he's a luxury. McClain isn't that big of a reach and unlike spiller, he actually helps a position that's in deep need. But hopefully berry will still be on the board during our pick....so we can skip over him and draft okung. To the bicycle!!!!!! Posted via Mobile Device |

I think we should draft a tackle, cause it's a safe pick. I mean, you at least get a guard out of it if he flops.

In the second round I would love Mike Iupati if hes there... hes like the Branden Albert prospect of the right side... put I would much rather just leave him at guard.

Hes not used in coverage the same way as Berry is... but I really think he could cover in the right scheme and I think all of his problems are coachable.. you really should expect rookies to be projects their first few years anyways. Bob Saunders really wasn't a coverage guy either.. but like Mays he could hit and break up passes. The difference is Mays is much bigger, faster, more athletic, and not injury prone. I've heard a lot of Roy Williams comparisions that I really don't see.. but even so Roy Williams was a Pro Bowl Safety every year in this scheme under Parcells. I see Mays as a SS for us which I think would utilize his talents and not waste them like being a FS in a Cover One defense does.

I don't want Mays for his coverage skills, I want him for his hard hitting and big impact player presence. He has the ability to cover and him getting those skills after a few years in the NFL would be a major bonus. He has the highest ceiling of anyone.

The thing about USC's defense is its kinda like Herms. It can be great, but you need great players everywhere. If you don't you look bad no matter how good you are.
