ChiefsPlanet DraftPlanet/CasinoPlanet: A Proposal - Page 7

Every year, we have the debate about when (and if) Draft Planet and Casino Planet should be hidden from the top and when (and if) they should be brought back. This has all been discussed ad nauseum around here, so I won't reiterate everything, but the basic idea is that there's not a LOT of talk in the regular season about the draft (though there is some), and there's not a LOT of talk in the offseason about fantasy sports (though there is some). So, it would be nice to have them both available year-round, but doing so adds another subforum to an already large list at the top of the Lounge. (Yes, you can hide them, but 90% of people don't, and they'd still be there for guests and the like.)

After a brief chat about it in the mod forum, we'd like to propose that the two forums be combined into one, but left up year-round. We'll add prefixes to the forum so that the different topics can be distinguished from each other and filtered if desired. It won't be the cleanest combination ever, but I think it'll be manageable given that people are already used to the hodgepodge of topics they sort through in the Lounge anyway and that the activity in those forums is comparatively low anyway.

Anyway, this thread is mainly to see if there are any strong objections to doing so. I might add a poll to this thread later if necessary, but the current thinking is that we'll do it unless a bunch of people hate it.

As long as there's a forum that allows draft discussions to not compete with everyday CP activity, I think it's fine.

Again what is the problem with leaving it up year around? Other than the summer months, the draft can really be talked about all year - especially during college season.

Threads like this crack me up. If there's one thing the mods around here have repeatedly shown they don't give a shit about (especially DaFace), it's the will of the people. I assume they'll solicit opinions, figure out what the majority wants, and do the exact opposite.
