It's going to be kind of shitty when the Raiders have a better stadium than us

Agreed.

That said, the opposing crowd will be the biggest factor against the Raiders in Vegas, as it's a transient town and close enough to other cities like LA, Phoenix, SF and San Diego in which to drive.

The fact that it's in Vegas will make it much more appealing to fans of the other 31 teams to turn it into a party weekend.

In the end, even though the Raiders will be playing in a state-of-the-art, amazing stadium, it probably hurts them more than helps them.

Yup. Another reason it would be good for the Chiefs, especially if they get more KC fans for the away game against the Raiders.

Everybody wins (including the Raiders' owner with a full stadium) except the Raiders on the field (and they're used to that).

I am not a redneck and go **** yourself if you want to watch football in some artsy fartsy bullshit new stadium. I rather be at Arrowhead. Its loud and for tough guys and gives us pride and and advantage. Ask Dallas if their new fancy rich boy stadium has done the same for them. They have no advantage and lose their all the time because the crowd is the rich people that only go because it's a social event and they think is cool. **** new stadiums. Remodel and upgrade the old ones. I don't see GB tearing down Lambeau any time soon.

I agree, although historically in both LA and Oakland they have had trouble filling their stadium. They use tarps to cover entire sections of seats so they don't have to count them. If they fill the stadium in Vegas they may not care if it is fans filling it or tourists as long as it is full.

Well, this is actually not exactly true.

While the Raiders certainly covered a minimum of 30,000 seats while playing at the Coliseum, that particulart stadium holds more than 100,000 people. So without covering the seats, there was no way to ensure that the Blackout Rule was lifted.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, the same thing has been applied since their return to Oakland.

When the Rams played in the Coliseum, they sold out for decades and they're sold out this year (and likely for the foreseeable future). Anaheim is a completely different city and county and most die hard LA Rams fans didn't want to spend their Sundays in 6 hours of traffic. I've had it take 2.5-3 hours just to get to Disneyland on the weekends when during the week, it's only about a 30 minute drive.

They still cover seats in Oakland.

I do like modernized stadiums - different sport, obviously, but Target Field up here in Minneapolis is awesome. Tons of different food and drink options, and the stadium is really well-designed and clean. Most importantly, though, there's not a bad seat in the house. Great for diehards (the few that exist) and casual fans alike.

It's been a while since I've been able to go to Arrowhead and I don't think there's any reason to make a "new" stadium, but I imagine that if for whatever reason one were built, they could keep (or even enhance) a lot of the things that make Arrowhead great (crowd noise and involvement, tailgating, etc) while also improving the amenities and polish of the place.

I'm not a Vikings fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm going to try and attend a game at their new stadium this year to see what they managed to do with the place. The concept drawings I saw back in the day impressed me, so hopefully they managed to turn some of those good elements into reality.

Does anyone want Arrowhead torn down and rebuilt into a new fancy monstrosity?

Having been to the Arrowhead remodel myself, I believe they did a great job of getting things up to spec while keeping the feel of the old house.

I hear tell the parking still sucks balls, though.

Didn't read the thread

Watching the raiders play on that pathetic field is just sad

It's half a baseball field and half a full port o potty. I hope they do get a new field and stadium just so our team doesn't have to play in that shithole of a stadium every year
