What should Veach accomplish this offseason?

Obviously we will try to keep OBJ and Ingram. Clark and Hitchens are probably gone.
I want Matheiu gone but I’m not sure Spags will let Veach do that. That will be interesting.

I think our #1 need has to be another receiving weapon. Mahomes went through slumps and a big part of that was the shit from Robinson and Pringle. They just aren’t good enough when Kelce and Reek are double covered.

We need to start a youth movement at DL, secondary and WR. Kelce, Jones, Ingram and Matheiu (whether he stays or goes) are starting to get old.

Basically WR, pass rush and secondary. I want Veach to attack those areas hard.

What do you think?

Clark, reed, tyrann, hitchens , Sorenson, Neiman gone.

Draft and sign young and hungry free agents.

Draft should all be defense.

See about adding another wr.

Who calls the plays on defense for the front 4 or 7?

If you straight rush all the time, you only get snacks from winning 1 v1s. We need stunts and mixing stuff up.

Off season:

Bye Honey B. Thanks for the memories.

See ya Hitch.

Post June 1 Frank’s ass, unless he wants to take about a $20 million cut for next year.

Franchise tag OB Jr. Re-sign Melvin.

Sign a LEGIT #2 WR. Allen Robinson would be nice and may be available on a one year ‘prove it’ deal.

Spend all the draft picks on defense! Pass rushers and athletic versatile DB’s. Maybe spend one pick on a speedster at WR (eventual Hardman replacement).

Do that and no reason we won’t be standing up again at the end with a chance. Hopefully we won’t shit down our leg next time it’s presented.

No CIN RB ran for more than 86 yards. in fact, without Burrows scrambles CIN was held to just 89 yds on the ground.

Only ONE Bengals receiver gained more than 55 yds, Tee Higgins (103). Chase went 6-for-54 yds.

CIN scored just two TDs.

Yeah, you're a regular Bill Parcells with that big football IQ.

In a nutshell this is really what Veach should try to do:

Retain as much of the necessary core players as he can.

Find a Watkins-type WR2.

Find solid replacements for those that are let go/traded/whatever both in the draft and FA.

Same as always.

Clark and Hitchens got to go.
Maybe Jones too.
And find a new DC. Spags needs to go.

Not sure it makes much sense to do anything with RB under Andy. We got a great playoff from these backs but Andy always gets away from it in the second half, even with a cushion. Game McKinnon 12 carries, CEH 6. McKinnon caught 3 balls. Not worth it.

Yeah, I would invest the minimum at RBs. Nothing higher than a mid round pick.

We seem to be able to find competent production at RB from FAs, UFAs, and mid round guys. No need to waste a first round pick on one.

We’ve had much less luck finding receivers and pass rushers. Use the early picks on those.

Offense
WR #2. I think Hardman really started to find a roll for himself in this offense but he's not a #2.

RB #1. CEH is at most a change of pace back IMO. Big-time durability issues and lack of big-play ability hurts the offense. At most, spend a mid-round pick but if they can get a back or two in FA for cheap I'm all for it. I wouldn't mind if they get a bruiser against defenses with these light boxes.

RT. I don't think they need to break the bank here but a servicable RT would be nice. Niang has a ton of potential but looked lost at times (maybe due to two years out of football) and had injury issues this year and his senior year of college.

Defense

I never want to see Neiman or Sorenson on the field again.

LB to replace Neiman. Bolton slides to MLB

CBs. Assuming Ward walks because he won't be worth what he commands in FA. Snead is the only CB worth a damn. They need starters and depth.

SS/FS They need a replacement for Mathieu. He had a down year and no way I bring him back at what he's going to get. They also need depth with Spags affinity for 3 safety looks and Sorenson shouldn't be on the team.

DE. They need two and this will be the hardest position to address IMO. Maybe Ingram will come back for a decent contract. No way do I bring Clark back.

A FG? A field goal is now the equivalent of getting face-****ed?

And are we just forgetting the fact that the offense had their chance to go all 'John Holmes' on CIN? And that short field was gifted to CIN via a lame duck throw into double coverage?

Spoiler: CIN won because Mahomes went all week 7 on us and shit the bed for nearly 4 straight quarters, scoring a single FG.

Dipshit. Who thinks like you do? My bad, you're obviously not thinking at all. Carry on.

Offense:

WR: sign one, draft one early, try to bring Pringle back on the cheap if possible
RB: mid-late round draft pick and another 1-year FA
RT: 1 year vet, wait for Niang to get healthy
Extend Brown and Hill

Defense:

Trim the fat: Clark, Hitchens, Sorensen, HB gone
Draft pass rush (interior and edge BPA) and safety
Sign a few 1-year DL (similar to what the Browns did)
Re-sign Ward if reasonable
