Apparently if they want to respond in ANY way you will also be right here, continuing to respond. Even though you obviously hate talking about yourself.

I'm just getting sniped at from thread to thread. Perhaps taking some time to address the sniping here may reduce it in the future.

Perhaps not. Guess we'll see.

LOL, isn't that all you've done in this thread, including the reeruned "that hurts their feelings"? And it has little to do with whether you "care" if people see it as backhanded, you never even understood that was the issue.

In this case, "care" is related to what you post. My explanations was detailing the response to a specific post. Those are two complete different things that don't contradict in the slightest.

You could post the exact same thing without the backhandedness and I would have thumbed up. You can make that post and I'll laugh at the responses. You can post about elephants and I may thank you for the information on elephants while wondering what it has to do with OP.

See how that works... I don't care if you adjust your style (there's plenty to laugh about), stop posting (there's plenty to waste time on), post more intelligently (I like giving people thumbs up).

Thanks for attending my TED talk, I know you've learned nothing and will overstate my feelings back.

I'll start... do you appreciate Veach as the GM of the Kansas City Chiefs and what he's done for the offensive line? Would you call it an above average outcome at this point? If so, why would you start your post with "What has Veach done, though? he did what most GMs can easily do"? Is that true, IYO, or was it more exceptional than that?

Tell me more about your ideas on this. I'm interested in hearing your perspective. If you want to make it about me, that's fine. I'm open to communicating in whatever way you feel most helpful. I just want to make this a better place for football-related discourse.

Appreciating Veach is a broader conversation here than the OP's topic. I'll keep it to the OL.

And it's hard not to respect what he's done to build a great starting line and near-great depth across it. The Chiefs literally have three backup tackles on the roster, plus Joe Thuney. Two of them are third-round picks with some promise and Prince Tega Wenogho who has been coached up excellently. The Chiefs need that depth right now. Allegretti alone on the inside is valuable, and Reiter isn't a bad emergency option at center. He's done a good job preparing the team with top-end talent and depth, which is all you can do.

The point I was trying to make was that in building out the OL, he's made some fantastic value moves. He found an All Pro center in the first round. He found a prol bowl guard in the 6th. He signed Smith for pennies in May, when starting tackles are simply not found. This is the kind of thing that sets Veach apart.

He also dropped major coin on the other two guys, which is something every GM can and does do. Thuney is clearly a homerun, Taylor will need time before we draw a conclusion there but I'm bullish.

Ok. How many teams don't even have 2/5ths of a good OLine, especially built with higher priced FAs?

I'm afraid those are teams with really bad GMs.

What Veach did at the other three positions is what separates him from the pack. Notching an All Pro center at the bottom of the second round, notching a Pro Bowl caliber guard in the 6th, and inking an effective LT for peanuts in May, are all ungodly accomplishments. If a GM can pull one of those things off, you're doing pretty well. The fact he's done it at all three positions is ridiculous.

You argued the bolded part making it seem like what Veach did was so easy almost any GM could do it, yet there are a lot of teams that can't say that and now it's just because those GMs are really bad at their jobs. If it was that easy then even the bad ones should nail that part of their job.
