I don't necessarily find that overly impressive.
The #1 problem with virtually all rookie QBs is staring down receivers.

Stanzi seems to have completely avoided that problem.

That you know of.

Brady goes through four reads a bit quicker and with typically great protection.

Stanzi is still getting used to the offense, and has shit protection.

It does show some nice growth potential, though. He was composed in the pocket and kept his rhythm throughout the play. His throwing mechanics were pretty solid as well.

It was just a bad throw - they happen. The fundamentals were pretty nice in that play, but the throw wasn't executed terribly well. EDIT: Watched it again, the mistake came with his feet. He didn't step towards his target, but rather stepped out a little. It brought his shoulder too far through and as expected, the throw followed his feet. So the mechanics were exactly ideal, but at least the problem is easily diagnosed and fixed.

If Cassel makes that throw, I'd be pretty pissed off about it. As such, I have to at least acknowledge that the throw probably should've been made. There was still plenty of good news to take away from that play, however.
Bingo.

BTW, I think the play is more impressive viewed in real time. This is quick process of information and reaction. He double clutches due to the pass rusher, I think.

Clayton,

How many passes did Stanzi throw to his left? How many were complete? (I'm hoping profootballfocus has the info).

Are you and C.E. going to be at each others throats throughout the season to see who can gush the most man-love at Stanzi?

In Clay's gif, Stanzi immediately looks right, immediately looks left and locks onto that receiver and throws the ball in that direction. It wasn't like he was working over the safety and ILB at the same time with look offs, pump fakes the CB and hits a bomb for a TD. The guy did two quick reads and threw a two yard out to the second read.

Jesus...

Let's ****ing annoint him into the Ring of Fame for that miracle of quarterbacking prowress.

can you be less of an idiot?
can you at least try.
you are the only one mentioning ring of fame.
It's encouraging to see a 5th round rookie in his third pro game look a tiny bit comfortable with the new game, plays, teammates, coaches, speed, etc.

Stanzi has some moxi, some composure and you can see glimpses of it already. Can you not say that at all?

A lot of young QBs can't do what Stanzi did there, Sac.

If Stanzi played LT Sac would have a towel next to his computer that he could use for a baseball bat.
