Yes, any GM can throw money around. But to throw money at the RIGHT players is a skill that you're hand waving.

Same. The Chiefs should get on that shit now and split the difference before he plays himself into huge money. It's a win-win. The team gets a good deal on a LT and he gets the security immediately.

Veach has done a great job. But I am not sure it is fair to compare it to the GM's having to build OL's for other team like the Broncos. I mean the Broncos sort of knew coming in that the only way they are competitive is if they can build a line to average 4-5 yds running the football and also keep Russ upright. That is not easy.

Patrick is great at handling the blitz and great at avoiding 1 lineman. Russ not so much. Chiefs even though they look like they should be able to run have not shown ability to just run the ball. Which for Denver has to be the goal in trying to put a OL together. Which is much harder.

I’m going to say something controversial…

I think Reid’s ability to get the absolute most out of every man is more responsible for our success than what Veach does.

Then you didn't watch Andy in Philly when he was in charge of personnel.

You can argue that Andy is more important than Veach, but Veach is still the best in the business, and a very important piece of the puzzle.

I'm talking about the "get the most out of every man" part specifically you ****ing dumbass.

If it were that simple, Andy would've had similar success when he was in charge of personnel.

I brought up the part about him being in charge of personnel for a reason, but I forgot things have to be spoon fed to you.

You can say that in terms of the overall success of the team, Reid is important, my point is that your choice of words really downplays Veach's eye for talent.

It's not just about "getting thre most out of every man". You're overlooking talent evaluation when you put it like that.

Spags too. But I think it's a situation of all three being important. Reid and Spags have the vision of what they need. Veach goes out and finds them.

Exactly.

My point was simply that Andy, being the HC, is obviously "more important", but we would not have this level of success without a GM like Veach.

You can agree with the conclusion, but disagree with how somebody arrvied there.

And that's a great point about Spags too. Andy has very little to do with the team building and coaching on that side of the ball. The only thing he really has to offer those guys is the culture.

It's probably a good mix but Brett has made life way easier for Andy. I still think Andy wanted Kelce bc of his brother and his asshole son was Temple's coach and saw him play every year.

Andy also found Kareem Hunt watching a lower conference football game on his tv in the office.

It's all mixed up but I think it's not just Brett Veach that deserves credit here. Brandt Tillis has done an incredible job with the cap and our deal structures.

This guy gets it. Any post that simply dismisses successful big money FA signings as “well any GM can spend money” is comically naive and simplistic.
