NFL is Rigged: Week 18 edition

The CP consensus is that the NFL is rigged. Welp, as such, I think it’d be great to discuss this week’s script.

The NFL is rigged, so this should be easy. As easy as predicting a WWE In-Ring interview being rudely interrupted by a rival with a steel chair.

Call your shot, what kind of week 18 shenanigans is the NFL up to?

Las Vegas vs L.A: Which new stadium does the NFL prefer? TWO teams in L.A make the playoffs?

Will the NFL write in a tie game sending BOTH to the playoffs?

Will they sneak the Steelers in for one last hoorah for Ruthlessraper?

Or will they write in Lamar Jackson because he generates ratings?

Will they give the most prestigious player (Mahomes) the #1 seed, or do they want to see the Chiefs in the WC round for extra ratings?

They have the much larger following..

Chargers are set for a while with Herbert...they will be competitive in the future. I dont think casual NFL fans are flocking to watch them because of Herbert..

Chargers are the better team...but they share a stadium. Raiders are on their own...

Raiders had a Madden Memorial tonight...kind of like the Rams with the wildfires....do you remember who they brought in to officiate it...Yep..Clete.

Bengals resting Burrow seemed sketchy AF when I read about it...but looks like a prudent move. It cost them the #3 seed...BUT now they get the Raiders at home then the Titans.

NFL gets a Burrow/Mahomes rematch in the AFCCG...which wouldn't have happened otherwise...and you all thought that hatchet job by the replacement refs was just bad luck...nope...it was AFCCG narrative building.

They could roll with the Belichick vs. pupil narrative...but that already played out earlier this season...and could result in a Patriots/Chiefs championship game.

Dont think they want that...

They were the ONLY team other than the Packers that rested their QB...and I think Rodgers still played a half.

It didn't make sense on a surface level as what if Mahomes were injured yesterday...they were sacrificing the #3 spot for nothing....until they weren't.

I am very curious about the Rams losing the #2 seed to get SF in the post-season...while the Cards simultaneously dropping to the crappy Seahawks so LA still has a home game.

There is some definite ****ery going on there...I dont follow the NFC too much...so haven't sifted through the scenarios. From a simple glance...TB might lose to the Eagles...and Dallas to the 49ers. I think this is the only situation where LA gets two home games...something to keep an eye on.

Rodgers to the SB is the end game...IMO...everything else is fodder....NFC has a lot of options...so dont take what I'm saying about them serious enough to financially bet. I'm not that invested in it..

But have you seen how the NFL has already cost the Chiefs a prep day in the divisional round compared to their potential opponents? I mean the NFL is doing everything humanly possible to hurt the chiefs…stacked their schedule, purposely pushed them off the #1 seed and now have one less day to prepare for the divisional round even though they are the #2 seed…someone really wants the Chiefs out!

Or...the fact that KC has rolled the AFC for 3 straight years is bad for "perceived" business"....they were 14-1 last year...how is this good for the morale of the other 15 fan bases trying to move their product/sell seat licenses?

Mahomes is a Micheal Jordan level talent in a league driven by gambling...it ****s the whole system up. He wasn't supposed to be THIS good....they had to marginalize it. Every new QB is better than Mahomes now...Herbert, Jackson..Burrow is the next flavor of the month...they are looking for their Reggie Miller.

Chiefs "dumbed down" their shit this season...they got the message in the SB. None of this playoff seeding drama happens if they win those first 6 weeks. Did you happen to notice how they magically won 8 in row...then went from a historically bad defense to allowing 10 PPG? Can you recall Mahomes throwing passes into the ground before this year?

On paper...this is the best team of the Mahomes era..I said that in the preseason and still believe it.

Because of the machinations, the Chiefs get to stomp the Steelers in a high-profile time slot. If the Raiders-Chargers game ended in a tie, there would be people at the bottom of the ocean with concrete shoes today. Even without Burrow and fielding practically a whole team of second-stringers the Bengals nearly beat the Browns (would have if the backup QB could throw). Brady vs. Belichick SB seems unlikely as does LA geting a home Super Bowl game. So yes, rematch of Chiefs-Bengals for AFC championship and Chiefs-Packers Super Bowl seems to be what they want.

Well, I actually went to the Texans / Titans game cuz I was given very good free tix (Club level) - Something to do. Had a good time... The only TV game I watched was the 2nd half of Raiders / Chargers. I wanted to see they would actually play for the tie. It was very entertaining. Is that ok with you Boss?

Ceasers sports book commercials, I found it interesting that the high profile brothers were promoting a sports book.

If you think resting Burrow was sketchy it shows you know nothing about that team. He has had the shit beat out of him and he was injured at end of Chiefs game.

Any game changing penalties? I didn't see any. Anyone else?

How'd the public do against the spread this weekend?
