Video Shows Woman Being Beaten At Baltimore Co. McDonald’s

ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) — A shocking video that’s gone viral Friday shows a woman being brutally beaten by two other women inside a Baltimore County McDonald’s restaurant.

Baltimore County Police say the incident occurred April 18 around 8 p.m. in the McDonald’s on Kenwood Avenue.

The video, which was posted on LiveLeak.com and made its way to the lead story on the Drudge Report by early Friday afternoon, shows the victim being viciously assaulted.

At one point an older woman steps in to try and stop the two attackers, but to no avail. After being dragged across the restaurant, the victim begins bleeding from the mouth and having a seizure, causing spectators to warn the attackers to run before the cops arrive.

“She’s bleeding, yo. Her mouth bleeding, her mouth bleeding! She’s having a [expletive] seizure, yo! She’s having a seizure right now, she needs help right now! Ya’al better get the [expletive] out of here now!” the cameraman is heard saying.

Finally, the two suspects stop the assault and leave the restaurant.

Both suspects were later identified.

A 14 year-old female has been charged as a juvenile. Charges are pending against an 18-year-old female. The incident remains under investigation and the State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.

The victim was transported to Franklin Square Hospital for treatment. No additional information about the victim’s condition is available at this time.

McDonald’s released the following statement regarding the incident on their website:

“We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald’s strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter.”

ROSEDALE, Md. (AP/WJZ) — The owner of a McDonald’s franchise in Maryland where a woman was badly beaten says he’s investigating the response of his employees after a video of the assault surfaced online.

Mitchell McPherson said in a statement Saturday that he was shocked and disturbed by the beating inside the Rosedale
restaurant. The company has also issued a statement condemning the beating. McPherson says the employee who took the video “is no longer employed with my organization.” Other workers will be disciplined as warranted.

The video posted online shows a woman being attacked repeatedly by two people while an employee tries to intervene. At one point the suspects pull the victim to the floor by her hair, even ripping off a wig. They drag her into the main dining room. Then after a powerful blow to the head, the victim appears to have a violent seizure, and as she bleeds from the mouth, spectators warn the attackers to flee before cops arrive.

The victim was taken to Franklin Square Hospital for treatment.

The police report reveals the victim told police she did not know her attackers. It also says when police caught up with the suspects, they admitted to getting in a fight with a woman over using the bathroom.

The State’s Attorney’s office is investigating whether the attack was racially or gender motivated to determine if other charges will result.

Baltimore County police say a 14-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile and charges were pending as of Friday against an 18-year-old woman.

The police report identifies the victim as 22-year-old Chrissy Lee Polis, who appears identical to Christopher Lee Polis, whose rap sheet includes convictions for disorderly conduct, property destruction, and prostitution, according to court records. The civil rights group Equality Maryland has identified the McDonald’s victim as a transgender woman.

Polis told police that she was walking to the restaurant’s bathroom when she “got into a verbal argument with two black females” who “began punching her in the face with their fists and pulling her hair.” A female bystander told cops that when she tried to break up the fight, the suspects punched her in the face, which “caused her to become disoriented.” Police noted that the woman, who declined medical treatment, had “redness around her right eye which is consistent with someone punching her in the face.”

However, in this situation, stepping in between two teenage girls that are kicking another human in the face repeatedly is not like stepping in between a weapons assault or car jacking. I think it's reasonable to assume that a grown man would suffer little to no injury stepping in to protect the human being on the ground. Let alone if one or two others of the half a dozen people watching helped. Or if anyone even attempted to do anything like call the police.

I'd be embarrassed if I didn't do anything and I watched someone's grandmother do more to stop the fight than anyone else in the restaurant. Embarrassed.

It may be reasonable to assume that, but it's also reasonable to assume that the second you step into it, a bunch of the attackers' "homies" might roll into the restaurant and you get the shit beat out of you, or worse. It's not uncommon for silly altercations like this to escalate into serious violence. Then you're risking hospital bills, missing work and not being able to take care of your own family. All over some freak who wouldn't leave the bathroom when asked.

So you're saying if you were in a McDonalds in East St Louis you would feel totally comfortable stepping in a stopping a fight between two black women and a third women?

Maybe in the burbs or rural areas but in cities, sorry you never know who has a knife or a gun on them. You think because they are women they aren't carrying? You go from a situation where they have the upper hand(hence no need for a weapon) to one where they may now be defensive. They pull a weapon and all of a sudden the situation changes radically.

that's messed up. McDonalds is crazy to fire employees for not getting involved. there is no duty to act for a minimum wage fry cook. If the guy had got involved and ended up going to the hospital because the chicks turned on him, he would be fired then too.

Bullshit. who was the victim? a grown man. you turn your back on those chicks for one second and they're going to rake your eyes, tap your sack, or do something to upend you. and if that happens its like falling in a pig pen.

Imo the old lady had the most to do with stopping the attack. Those girls didn't want to **** with anyone that would actually stand up to them both.

They werent near as bad once she started in.
