Maybe because of the severe underuse of our salary cap we have some unfit players this year. I will not metion who these players are. But maybe they are incapable of palying 3-4 plays.

We don’t have enough big athletic ones to run a 3-4.

Because we have overinvested in DT's for the past 4 years and it would be stupid.
Downing Our 1st pick in 01 (Third round) Sims our first pick in 02 (first round) Freeman our 2nd pick in 02 (2nd round) Saivii our first pick in 04 (2nd round) We have drafted DT's to run a 4-3 Instead of looking for a silver bullet to fix the D (Change to a 3-4) we need to invest in the Defense outside of Defensive Tackels. We need young talent at DE, LB, and in the backfield. We need to draft a CB, DE, and LB in the first three rounds of the upcoming draft. |

Hell, we don't really have good enough LBs to run a 5-2....

I was wondering this as well. I don't think the LB's are good enough but, hell, our secondary isn't good enough to run a 2-9 and that's not really stopping us from pressing on the edges.
I always liked the 3-4 utilizing the fastest, smartest, most athletic, as a spy. It couldn't really hurt too much at this point. |

Yeah, but that doesn't count. I mean Warren Sapp lined up on the outside makes no sense to me...

no kidding, but based on our talent level.. it could be interesting to see us try a 5-2, just because we have more DT's that are pretty good compared to LB's that suck! |

Heck I'm not convinced we have the Dlinemen to run it. Sims certainly isn't the answer at NT. Siavii might be. Who would be the linemen to pick up the blockers and let the linebackers persue?
Also our best linebacker past Fuj is Mitchell. That speaks volumes to the quality of our LB corp.
