I wish I'd seen the game, he must've been ON. Clemens threw well, as did the 'Stros pen (Clemens left in the 7th), taking a 4-hit shutout of their own into the 10th. THAT'S good baseball.

The guy beat the Pirates 10-1 in his last outing. Looks like he is past the problems.

Big Derrty is all aflutter after that game. The local news should've just been called 'Cards rapture.' You'd think we were already into October, we're so Card crazy already.
It's sweet, really.

The Cards in general and Mulder in particular got off to a slow start this season - that seems to be history now.
I wasn't exactly thrilled when they picked Mulder up - primarily because Danny Haren was one of the people they had to give up to get him, and Haren was about the ONLY Cards pitcher who threw worth a crap in the WS. This makes me feel better, though. I certainly enjoyed watching going up to Milwaukee and watching them pummel the Brewers last weekend. Nice to see that one of my home state teams doesn't suck balls. |

How about Clemens' start this season! In four games (28 innings) he has only allowed 1 run for a 0.32 ERA. He has 32 strikeouts and only 6 walks. Despite all of this he is only 1-0. He has gotten only three runs of support (all in the first game, where two of the runs were driven in by him). The Astros have lost three consecutive 1-0 games in extra innings while Clemens has been the starting pitcher. Damnit Stros
