Pick your three all-time greatest Cleveland Browns

Vote for your top three, excluding of course a three-year period in the late 1990s.

Poll coming, unless Byner fumbles it.

Marion Motley was the greatest full back every to play the game. He averaged 5.8 yds per carry. Imagine how dominant he would be in the 2TTPO! Motley would make Donnell Bennett look like a slow-footed plow horse. He was one of four blacks to break the pro-football color barrier a year before Jackie Robinson became a MLB rookie. In one game against the Steelers in 1950 Motley rushed for 188 yards on just 11 carries for a 17.1 yards-per-carry average.

Jim Brown and Otto Graham were pretty good players too.

Interesting. I didn't know that about Mr. Motley.

Actually it is not so amazing. Even a lowland gorillia could make Donnell Bennett look like a slow-footed plough horse.

Otto Graham, Jim Brown, Ozzie Newsome.

Bernie Kosar is one of my all-time favorite QBs, BTW.

Here is an interesting article that was published at the time of Motley's death a few years ago. In it, you can learn how the draw play was invented.

Not just any lowland gorilla. Some lowland gorillas couldn't play football in junior high because their parents wouldn't sign the darned permission slip.

Sipe, Kosar, Jim Brown. I should have selected Ozzie but had a quick trigger finger. What a dumb ass.
