Adams added to injury report

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Bills defensive tackle Sam Adams has a knee injury and is questionable for Buffalo's home game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Adams did not practice Friday for the first time this week and was added to the Bills injury report after the workout.

Adams' agent, Angelo Wright, said he "banged" the knee on Monday.

"He's been taking a beating physically," Wright told The Associated Press Friday afternoon.

Coach Mike Mularkey said the 12-year veteran's status will be a game-time decision.

After being named to his third Pro Bowl in 2004 following a season in which he registered 40 tackles and five sacks, Adams has struggled this year. He has just 14 tackles and one sack through the Bills' (3-5) first eight games.

He watched most of the second half of Buffalo's 21-16 loss to New England Oct. 30 after being benched, the second time in two years that Mularkey has sat down Adams in the middle of a game.

Adams has said publicly that he was irritated with the benching.

Reserves Tim Anderson and Justin Bannan replaced Adams on a rotating basis against the Patriots and would likely do the same against the Chiefs if Adams can't go.

Cornerback/kick returner Terrence McGee remains questionable for Sunday's game with a hamstring injury but did practice for the second straight day Friday.

McGee broke the team's all-time record for kick return yardage against the Patriots and leads the league with a 32-yard return average.

This is fine with me. I'm not one of those people who says "we want to beat them at their best." I've got no problem going up against a team that's so decimated by injuries that they arrive in an ambulance.
