Confirmed: Athan's Source Is A Talking Parrot
Associated Press-Thursday, January 19, 2006

Persons close to influencial sports writer Nick Athan have confirmed on the promise of anonymity that Athan's source for recent articles dealing with the Kansas City Chiefs is a talking parrot.

"Zeus", an African Grey kept in an ornate cage in Carl Peterson's office, can mimic separate words and compose simple sentences and has, according to reports, communicated words including "Solari", "OC", and "Too Much Money!" to the cleaning staff at the Arrowhead complex who have passed on these details to Athan.

Athan was unavailble for comment and did not return repeated calls prior to press. However, Zeus has indicated that, from this point forward, he will only communicate through his attorney, "Fred" - an arabian trumpeter pigeon residing in Independence, MO.
