Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Alright. I stand corrected.

Our record past 15 seasons: 142-100 (not bad, you'd think we'd have made the playoffs a lot more. Or at least had won some post-season games.)

Our record 15 seasons prior to Carl (to answer your comment) 1974-88: 86-137-1

Looks like Herm hasn't really done anything worth bragging about.

I mean, Gunther had similar records without a probowl running back like Curtis Martin.

Well.... Maybe we will get Cowher when he retires and we can go 13 years before we get a SB win. Yes, I know that is better than what we have had.

You should have made some mention of that in the thread starter, because I was looking at those numbers thinking you didn't know what the hell you were talking about.

But it's a nicely illustrated point. The fact is, other than Parcells, Herm Edwards is the most successful coach they've had in 25+ years.

They used one season where the team was decimated by injuries to decide he's a failure.
