C'mon old skool Chiefs fans...
This is ole Dino Hackett!!! I do believe he was a pro bowl alternate one year, so he was a pretty good LB for a few years until Marty and his defensive system took over. Undersized but quick as all get go, a poor man's Jack Lambert perhaps but Dino did not have the Steel Curtain in front of him. Maybe the Lambert reference is a stretch, but these were the lean years of the Chiefs, remember, so one had to hang their hat somewhere.

Dino Hackett had one of the best names of any linebacker ever. He was an effective middle linebacker for a few years, but not a star. Frankly, I thought he was a bit overrated.

I say "middle linebacker" because I think he played in a 4-3, but it's possible that he was an inside linebacker in a 3-4. I think he was an MLB, though.

Like I said, he may have been overrated, but who do you pull for back then, Tim Cofield? Of course Billy Bob Maas and Deron Cherry and that rest of that great secondary played with Hackett, but besides that, the pickings were awfully slim back then. We are spoiled nowadays.

Wasn't he outside Arrowhead with a shotgun during the strike?
