I want Jose Lima. Well, not seriously, but I really think Jose Lima could make a great coach someday. Great charisma, team guy, and always active in the dugout...Lima Time everyday, all day. How cool would that be?

How about Frank Robinson? Anyone who has seen him stare down an umpire knows we need that kind of intensity.

Aren't the Marlins gonna dump Jeerardi or whatever his name is? He could be just the spark we need.

Out of those choices, I'd guess 60-80%. Given the criteria Dayton says he uses for selecting a manager, I think Buddy might fit the bill. There's still a part of me that thinks he Dayton really might change things up.... and I thought a lot of the positive Buddy talk was lip service, but there was a Posnanski article a week ago where Dayton talked about what he really wanted in a manager. And I think Buddy fits that, I haven't agreed with every move he's made but this team never quit on him, that's pretty impressive, I think they would've quit on Muser or Pena.

IMO it's a done deal that Buddy will be back, if healthy. Dayton seems to like him and the team played alot better once some actual talent was brought in.
I don't really agree with the move but I can see why Dayton would do it. |

If Buddy is healthy - then he is back. I think that is a big if though.

The only question is his health, I think.
The team showed some good improvement after the moore hiring. 13-38 .250 before, 49-62 .441 after. If they improved that same percentage next year, they'll win 100 games |

Go after Joe Girardi if he does not get a raise for the great job he did in Florida with a bunch of no names and the DTrain

Who cares? It's baseball, and worse than that it's the Royals. I gave up my season tickets after the '86 strike.

If Joe Girardi leaves the Marlins, he's a shoe-in for the Cubs job. He's from Chicago.
If Dayton wants to replace Bell, and he's said nothing to indicate that, there's no need to do it now unless the guy Dayton wants might get picked up elsewhere. The Royals aren't going to be any good next season. Let Dayton keep doing what he's doing to rebuild the team, and if he makes a move at manager then he can do it before '08 when they hopefully start becoming respectable. |
