L. Johnson in no rush to get new deal done

It looked like he was becoming a corporate-whore, shaving logo's into his hair, representing his friends companys with his touchdown poses. But, he's back in my good books. I'm sure he's happy to hear that from me!

Randy Covitz, of the Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs have had discussions with RB Larry Johnson regarding a new contract, although the talks are at a preliminary stage. Johnson, who has three more years left on his original contract and is scheduled to earn $850,000 in 2007, says he is in no rush to get a new deal done. "It's out of my hands," Johnson said. "It's the same thing as going in with the deal when I was a rookie. It doesn't bother me. I'm fine. It's more about trying to win the Super Bowl. I'm not trying to win 'Richest Man Alive.' "
