Will the top OT's be gone at KC's 2nd round pick?

Let's say there are 10 top OT's in this year's draft. As far as I know the following teams (other than KC) need an OT. I don't have time to research more so this list could be added to or subtracted from:

Miami
St. Louis
Atlanta
Oakland
Denver
Baltimore
Carolina
San Diego
Houston
Pittsburgh
Dallas

Miami, St. Louis, Atlanta & Oakland count twice because they'll have two chances to draft before KC's 2nd round pick. That's 15 possible spots for an OT to be taken prior to KC's 2nd rounder. I think we could see a run on the top 10 OT's that would have them all gone by the time KC picks in the 2nd round. Just some food for thought since it's a pretty common assumption that the Chiefs can wait until the 2nd round to fill this need.

Does that mean KC shouldn't stay at # 5 & select Dorsey if he's there? Nope - just some additional info to throw into the mix.

Who knows? You wouldn't think it would happen looking at the way it is sizing up, but there is always that suprise pick in every draft. Look no further than (an injured) Ted Ginn Jr. last year.

I doubt it, though. I think the value of the six or seven top draftees does not include two Offensive Tackles.

The Chiefs have held the "we can get by on drafting Offensive Linemen in the Middle to Late rounds" philosophy for years...And where do we stand?

We stand pretty well. Croyle, he sits on his ass a lot with a few defenders on top of him.

But hey if it does, that means there WILL be a great WR, CB, or even Brohm. I really don't care if we don't draft an OT in the first two rounds though. Id rather have Doresy or Ellis over Long... If theres a better WR or CB in the 2nd than an OT, I'd take the better players.

I'd take Dorsey over any player in the draft. The only other player close, IMO, is Chris Long. After them I'd be fine with Jake Long or Ellis, followed by Ryan/Gholston.

I'd say it's entirely likely that Jake Long, Ryan Clady, Chris Williams, Jeff Otah, and Gosder Cherilus will be gone when the Chiefs pick in the second round. Who does that leave, Baker and Nicks? Nicks will surely be there, but Baker might not be.

I think you hit it on the head there. All the top guys will be long gone by 2. Maybe we could jump up? Hate to lose picks, just depends on who is there and what the price is.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about Gholston because I'm wary of workout warriors, still think he's raw and I'm not confident that we'd use him properly. However, I'm not sold on Matt Ryan either. I'd be fine with any of Dorsey/Long/Long/Ellis and will be disappointed if all four are gone by #5.
