(Wireless Internet) Routers - is this one decent?

My Dlink DI-524 seems to be giving me troubles again. Every so often, it just decides to not allow the wireless devices to connect. I am tired of this BS and I'm thinking of trying something different. This is my 2nd DI-524. The first one failed on me. It started acting up when I used the scheduling feature a lot. When I got the replacement, I never used the scheduling. It seemed to work okay for awhile. Now it seems to want to not allow the wireless devices to connect for no apparent reason. I do use mac filtering, WEP, and static IP.

Eh, I don't think I want that Rosewill router. It doesn't have a firewall and other security features that I want.

Anyone know anything about Level One routers. I am looking at this one, but can't find any reviews except a few on Newegg.

Or if someone could point me towards an inexpensive router that won't flake out on me over time, that would be great. I think I want something with WPA, mac filtering, and static Ip, if possible.

I have used DLink routers for the past 5 years - no serious problems aside from the range, which is taken care of by a repeater/extender.
Never used a Rosewill router

I kinda like Porter Cable and DeWalt. It's all a matter of opinion, though. Most of it boils down to your bits anyway.

I've used Linksys mostly. It's good for everyday use. You have to restart the think every few months or so, but that only entails pulling the plug for 5 secs.

Phil, you are a freakin' comedian. Don't quit your day job.

I am tired of Dlink's problems. I bought a Lynksis AP a couple years ago and it also went to crap. I just want something that will work well, is reliable, has lots of security features, and is inexpensive. Is that too much to ask?

Find a supported router and flash it.

It doesn't support very new routers, so is it really worth going with an older router to get it?

I like the Triton for dedicated table use but use this one for smaller jobs.

I like the Bosch 1617 too. Two bases for plunge and regular work.

Yeah, my FIL has one without problems, as well. I think it may be hit and miss. Problem is that I've had 2 misses. Actually, this one has worked fine for the past couple years. But when they start to go bad, they really are a pain in the butt.

I use the predecessor to the 524 (614+) and have never had any problems. Are you sure it's not a setup problem or getting surges? I mean it's just a router, not rocket science.
