KU Mangino given raise/extension

Kansas gave coach Mark Mangino a raise and extended his contract two years Tuesday, amending his deal to up his compensation to $2.3 million per year.
The contract now runs through 2012.

Great for coach Mangino. And it is well deserved.

All jokes aside, I do think he should seriously consider some kind of surgery or something. That excess weight will probably kill him someday.

I was just at his son's wedding in Lawrence last weekend. Mark has lost some noticeable weight. He is still a large man, but he looks better. First time meeting the man. Super nice guy and generous with his money (open full bar all night long). Good to hear about his contract extension. No matter if you are a fan or not, hard to deny that the man has done wonders to a football program that had been abysmal for many many years before him.
