Chiefs REALISTIC chances this season.

I see lots of people saying we could win or lose X amount of games this year.

I understand "any given Sunday", and winning some we should have lost or losing some we should have won.

I am also aware that it is too early to tell due to pre-season game injuries-trades-etc.

What I am wondering is if you are predicting X amount of victories this season, which games are you basing your realistic chances of winning this season?

I am pessimistic based on many reasons, and have a limited knowledge of the game and other teams.

I think we should be able to beat the Raiders once, maybe twice. I also think we will win one other game somewhere along the line that we should have lost based on any given Sunday, although I don't know which game.

Not trying to argue with anyone myself, but would like to learn from you more knowledgeable posters arguing amongst yourselves. (Conrad Dobler)

I see us winning 2 or maybe 3 games.

it all depends on how well the o line and brodie croyle performs. If they preform well, then i really think this team can make a push at a wild card spot, if they dont perform so so, then i see anywhere between 6-8 wins. But if they flat out suck, then no more than 4 wins.

Under 5....if things go like how they look on paper we could very well have the #1 overall draft pick.

6-10 would be a great year for this squad....regardless of what True Fans think...

but I'm thinking 4-5 wins is more likely....

I think there was so many unknowns it's really hard to say. There are too many young guys that no one can truly evaluate at the NFL level because they haven't played there yet. Since we have so many young guys, it's realistic to think we aren't gonna be very good.

But, a lot of these guys could flop, and we could legitimately be a 1-15 team. Or if some of these guys live up to their hype as the best draft class... it's not unrealistic to think these young guys like Dorsey or Charles become playmakers and push this team to be one of those "up and coming" 6-7 win teams that plays real scrappy and upsets a couple good teams while losing to a couple bad ones.

I'm thinking a floor of 4 wins, and a ceiling of 6 wins.

This team has more talent than last year, albeit young talent.

But I'd rather have young talent than none at all.

I think even if several of the rookies are good we still won't win more than 3 or 4 games, we have serious holes in key spots...

The left side of our DL is pretty much nothing, we have 2 giant LB holes, Pollard will likely continue to get picked on, and that doesn't even count the giant questions on offense.

Yeah, but the level of talent in the NFL isn't that great right now. There are a lot of 8-8 teams with holes. The key is the offensive line getting better and the defensive line playing strong.

That's it. We've got a RB, TE, and WR who can all play at an elite level and be playmakers. Two guys on the right side of the DL that can cause havoc, and two not great, but very good linebackers. That's best case scenario, for sure, but there are plenty of 6 or 7 win teams that probably don't have much more than that.

If this Albert thing doesn't get resolved we're looking at 5-11 or worse.

What I'm getting at....

Do we have a realistic shot at beating Miami?

Buffalo?

New Orleans?

etc.?

I know it's early and that's why they play the games.

I am just wondering who on the schedule makes you think we can win X amount of games?

On the flipside. LJ could get hurt, Bowe could have a sophomore slump. Several of our draft picks could under perform, and we'd be 1-15.

But reality is, most NFL teams fall between 10-6 and 6-10ish level anyway. To be 6-10 isn't any great accomplishment... it's been at the bottom end of that big clump of teams in the middle. There are only 3-4 teams who are usually really good, and usually only 2-3 that are really bad.

New Orleans will probably cream us, and I don't think Buffalo is a winable game either...

Miami is sure, so is Atlanta but after those 2 it gets questionable, hell even Atlanta sort of is because it's a road game.
