Isn't Johnston just as much as a liability against the run as Hali is?

To be honest haven't really seen him play against the run much, so I don't know for sure. That is why I was asking. He seemed to get to the QB in one of these past games, can't really remember which one?

RDE is like QB - there are no viable options currently on the roster.

I think he doesn't need motivation as much as he needs to get healthy. It's very hard to rush the passer when you're legs aren't right. See Julius Peppers 2007 vs. Julius Peppers 2008.

What we need to do is move him back over to the LDE spot where he belongs. That way when we draft a RDE next year we'll have an actual rotation going with Tamba and Turk on the left and our draft pick and Johnston on the right.

They're not going to move him. The whole coaching staff is way too stubborn.

He's nicked up, once he's back to 100% he'll dominate.

Our defenses biggest liability is our offenses inability to maintain a drive and score points.
Solve that and Hali looks a lot better IMO.

Johnston's looked a little overwhelmed, I don't think he's ready for that quite yet.

Yes they have to stay on the field longer and they get worn out. No doubt, but even in the first part of the game, Hali is not getting any pressure. I just wonder it is due to the fact he is injured or Herm is not playing to his strength by moving him to the right side. So why not rest him against a team that unless a miracle happens we're going to lose against and give Johnston a chance, not to mention let Hali get that knee ready for later games.

The defense sucked last week from the beginning, save Carolina's opening drive.

I was at the game as a matter of fact (I live in NC)
and yes, the Chiefs were disgustingly bad. In fact as I have told some of my people, they did 3 things well all day. They flopped on the fumble, caught the interception and got the feet down, and forced a punt on the opening series. Pitiful. Fact is though, when Jake Delhome went down last year, the Panthers resembled the Chiefs of this year. If we could get some O-line play and a Qb, I do think our Defense will look 100% improved.
