Um ... since Cowher wants complete control over football operations, and won't get that in KC, you can put this dream to rest.
If KC does keep Herm, how do they get any decent FAs here with a lame duck coach? How much will his decisions be affected more by him wanting to keep his job than what's best for the future of the team? Why leave the guy -- and all the assistants, et al -- hanging on a string when you can just cut your losses now? And what makes you think next year will be any better than this one for finding a head coach? Who can they get next year they can't this year? Sorry, but keeping Herm just makes ZERO sense unless they give him a contract extension. And doing that would be so full of stupid it would burn ... MM ~~
