Kiper's mock -- 1-16

I'm not wild over Sanchez, but Kiper probably knows more than I do. IMO, you take BPA in the top 5, if not top 10. I think DE is our biggest need, but that would be a huge reach at #3 overall, and can probably be addressed in Rd 2.

1.Detroit Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
2 St. Louis Andre Smith OT Alabama
3 Kansas City Mark Sanchez QB USC
4 Seattle Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
5 Cleveland Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest
6 Cincinnati Jason Smith OT Baylor
7 Oakland Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
8 Jacksonville Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
9 Green Bay Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio St.
10 San Francisco Aaron Maybin DE/OLB Penn St.
11 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St.
12 Denver B.J. Raji DT Boston College
13 Washington Brian Orakpo DE Texas
14 New Orleans Vontae Davis CB Illinois
15 Houston Everette Brown DE Florida St.
16 San Diego Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia

If Kiper knew more than you, he'd probably be a GM by now. But he's not. So go ahead and criticize all you want. I'm not a fan of Sanchez at all.

If BJ Raji continues to impress, he'll go much higher than 12, maybe in the top 3.

Chris Long and Raji could go a long way in Spagnoulo's defense.

Rams could have a solid front line with Carriker and Clifton Ryan as well.

I agree. That could change but nobody makes me giddy with anticipation.

Personally, I am for trading up with the Lions for the #1 overall spot this year to make sure we get the best QB.

Since the Lions alread have a later first round pick, maybe our 2nd rounder would be enough to get the deal done. It would get the Lions off of the big bucks for the #1 overall, and give them 4 overall picks out of the first 34 selections.

I hope he's wrong about Maclin. I would sure hate to see him in black and silver.

I can't believe that Johnson would drop that far. I would love it if we could get him too. Also, is Oher really gonna drop to ****ing 28?

From all of the Senior Bowl reports.....he's too inconsistent. He'll dominate and then get dominated.
