Misc Shock Absorber Recommendations

Putting new shocks on a 1998 S10 2WD 4.3V6 Ext. Cab.

Is there any difference between Monroe, Gabriel or KYB?

Probably will go with mono-tube.

Not going to shell out for Bistein, Koni etc.

Not really.

Out of those three, I've always had good luck with KYB, but I'd rather splurge for the Konis

KYB by a MILE. Gas-Ajust. All we sell at my shop are KYB and Billsteins if you are really serious.

Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State

Upon further research, I have seen some recommendations for AC Delco.

How would those compare with KYB?

KYB shocks are great.

To really pick a shock/strut you need to know what you are looking for from those parts. A little more info would be nice.
