(Way early) 2010 NFL Mock Draft

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?eref=T1

1. St. Louis Rams (trade with Lions on draft day)
*Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

Lions will have the worst record, but can't afford another No. 1 overall. Teams will want to trade up for this QB, unlike the lack of interest in Matt Stafford. The only danger is critics will have a year to pick apart Bradford, who could have been No. 1 this year.

2. Oakland Raiders
*Eric Berry, SS, Tennessee

Will the new Raiders coach be able to talk Al Davis out of workout wonder Taylor Mays? This is very high for a safety, but Berry is special.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
*Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

Tampa Bay's defense will really need help after its first full Monte Kiffin-less season.

4. Detroit Lions (trade with Rams on draft day)
Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State

They'll do anything to protect their investment in Matthew Stafford.

5. San Francisco 49ers
Taylor Mays, S, USC

Might as well cement all the comparisons to Ronnie Lott.

6. Jacksonville Jaguars
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

The disruptive Suh will help bring some bite back to this defense.

7. Cleveland Browns
Mark Herzlich, LB, Boston College

Or perhaps Sergio Kindle, who is slotted at No. 14.

8. New York Jets (via draft day trade with Chiefs)
*Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State

Assuming the Jets don't sign Plaxico Burress, new quarterback Mark Sanchez will need more help.

9. Cincinnati Bengals
*Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois

How much longer can an unhappy Chad Johnson work in Cincy?

10. Green Bay Packers
Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma

The Packers need to make that big investment in Aaron Rodgers pay off.

11. Buffalo Bills
*Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa

The Bills could also look at receiver if the Terrell Owens experiment doesn't work out.

12. Seattle Seahawks (via Broncos)
*Joe Haden, CB, Florida

The Seahawks will need more help running after the Cardinals' receivers.

13. Washington Redskins
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida

All it takes is for one team to fall in love with the chosen one. No owner develops crushes like Daniel Snyder, who will take Tebow 10 picks too early. Tebow doesn't necessarily fit the mold of a Jim Zorn quarterback, but there could be a new coach in Washington by draft day if the Redskins end up slotted at No. 13.

14. Kansas City Chiefs (via draft day trade with Jets)
Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Scott Pioli traded down even more in this draft to take control of the second round, like he used to in New England. The Chiefs already have the Falcons' pick for the Tony Gonzalez trade.

15. Minnesota Vikings
*Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida

He's 6-foot-6, 285 pounds and could go even higher if he dominates the 2009 season.

16. Atlanta Falcons
Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama

The Falcons did draft Peria Jerry, but coach Mike Smith could add more size on that defensive line. Cody has battled weight problems but slimmed down in the offseason.

17. Miami Dolphins
Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida

The hard-hitting LB has Bill Parcells written all over him. (That's assuming Parcells is still with the 'Fins.)

18. Seattle Seahawks
Greg Hardy, DE, Mississippi

If this seems too low a spot for a team that finished 4-12 last season, remember the Seahawks were decimated by injuries in 2008. Hardy's a big talent who has attitude issues to address.

19. New Orleans Saints
*Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech

New Orleans failed to get a big back in this year's draft.

20. Baltimore Ravens
Brandon LaFell, WR, LSU

Baltimore's leading receiver, Derrick Mason, is 35.

21. Denver Broncos (via Bears)
Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri

Quarterback Jevan Snead transferred to Ole Miss from Texas before the 2006 season.
Bill Frakes/SI
Denver will still be looking to shore up its defense.

22. Houston Texans
*Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina

We've all heard this before, but this is the year the Texans break into the playoffs.

23. Dallas Cowboys
Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky

Tony Romo fails to get his first playoff win, which would have moved the Cowboys further down in the first round.

24. Tennessee Titans
Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma

Or will Tennessee be looking for a quarterback here? We'll give Vince Young the benefit of the doubt.

25. San Francisco 49ers (via Panthers)
*Jevan Snead, QB, Mississippi

Depending on who you talk to, Snead could be the No. 1 overall pick next year or fall out of the first round. Keep an eye on one of this year's most interesting prospects.

26. Arizona Cardinals
George Selvie, DE, South Florida

Will the Cardinals be looking for a QB as well? We'll also give Matt Leinart the benefit of the doubt.

27. Indianapolis Colts
Brandon Lange, DE, Troy

The small-school product could be the Colts' next sack specialist.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers
Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama

Not a lot of immediate needs I can see for Pittsburgh, so it can take the best available talent.

29. New York Giants
*Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama

The Giants will likely need a burner at receiver, but McClain reportedly has looked scary during spring practice.

30. New England Patriots
C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson

If they don't trade out of the first round, they'll need a running back.

31. Philadelphia Eagles
Ciron Black, OT, LSU

Andy Reid gets back to his true passion next season, drafting offensive linemen.

32. San Diego Chargers
*DeMarco Murray, RB, Oklahoma

Chargers finally get over the hump in the playoffs.

And Dunlap, Cody, and Spikes are the three subsequent picks...

The most ridiculous thing about that mock is that the Chargers win the Super Bowl.

Also interesting that 2 safeties are in the top 5.

I disagree.

The dumbest thing about this mock is that the Atlanta Falcons take a serious step backward with the addition of Tony Gonzalez (and Peria Jerry, et all) but the Chiefs without Gonzalez and no suitable replacement numbers-wise, a shitty offensive line and no pass rusher, takes a step forward.

This guy is smokin' crack.

Oh yeah and San Fran at #25!

If we can't land an impact receiver by that point (Boldin, Edwards, etc.), I'd like to see Dez Bryant as a Chief. But I'm also hoping we're not picking in the top 10 again.

And I completely agree about the Chargers/Falcons/9ers crap.
