KU’s Gill lands first commitment

New Kansas football coach Turner Gill got his first oral commitment Sunday when Irving (Texas) safety Ray Mitchell gave his pledge to the Jayhawks, according to Rivals.com.


Mitchell was one of eight recruits on KU’s campus this weekend, and he became the 15th commitment in the class of 2010. Mitchell, a two-star recruit, had offers from KU, Iowa State, Tulsa, Texas El-Paso, UNLV and Wyoming.

I would say in most cases, that always helps. There can be exceptions to that, but in most cases it does help indeed.

Wouldn't the proper thing to do if this is the case to be to just start a "Gill Recruiting" thread instead? Put all the recruiting news in one thread. Makes most sense to me anyways.

That's true too. Now that Gill has been hired most of the KU news around here at least until football time again will be mostly of KU basketball. As it should be.
