Life So I got this Traffic Ticket

Thursday night I pick up some food for dinner which is right down the street. I am just sitting at this traffic light, almost back at the pad when a CHP rolls up which I would notice 99.99% of the time but I was distrated by my food not wanting it to spill. He puts his flashlight through the window in my truck and in my face trying to see if my seatbelt was fastened. It wasn't because I had just pulled out. He then proceeds to pull me over. I knew this guy was going to be a snot nosed little bitch because of how he did this and the fact that he was probably all of 21 years old with his hair properly high lighted and all teased up. I decided I would approach this differently than I usually would. I usually would ask him why he pulled me over and hand him my DL, registration and insurance. I never talk to cops. If they try to talk to me I just tell them with all due respect sir I have no interest in talking to you. I decided to give up my right to

this time and see just how much this guy would push me around. I gotta say it was a real eye opener. These are just some of the questions he asked me. What am I doing? Where am I going? Why am I not wearing my seatbelt? What is my residency? Have I ever been arrested before? What for? Am I on drugs? Have I been drinking this evening? WTF? Because this was just an experiment I just nicely answered all of his questions. He goes back to his car and what seemed like an eternity later finally came back. He turned around everything that I had said about my residency in order to try and catch me in a lie. I corrected him. Of course I still get a ticket FINALLY and get told to drive safely. Mind you this whole process probably took 30 minutes. The very next night at approximately the same time this punk ass officer is in front of me at the same light. (CHP office is right around the corner) His light turns green but instead of driving he just sits there at the green light playing with his little computer between the seats. All this said and done all I have to say is NEVER, EVER talk to one of these POS. I don't feel like a citizen being protected by our police force I feel like prey with cops just lying in wait ready to pounce and extort. Sure love this Cali budget crisis.

Needless to say I won't be making a contribution this year to the police force. I can hardly wait till they call.

The worst cops are the punk kids. I'd love to see us put a minimum age for law enforcement at 25.

Meford cops are horrible. Everyone else there is much better. The Highway Patrol is all about extortion though, at least in those two states. I did move my family back and am up there pretty often. With the exception of CHP and a couple small communities the cops here are much better than in Oregon especially Medford.

Nothing worse than a punk ass kid with a badge and a gun.

You know it's funny when you do know your rights and use them. It kind of takes them by surprise. They try and trick you into talking to them then. My favorite is when their response is to puff all up, raise their voice and say "you know I have the right to ask you as many questions as I want"

Most of the idiots are in Portland and Eugene. Washington is beautiful country but it rains WAY too much up there for me.

What do you mean primary. It's not a moving violation if that's what you mean. It doesn't effect my insurance. Last tiem i checked it was only $50 but that was years ago. They add another $50+ in taxes, court costs, filing fees and all kinds of other horse shit.

By primary, I mean he can pull you over for not wearing a seat belt. Secondary means he couldn't, but could issue a ticket if observed after pulling over for another offense.

My family is all in Medford and there are health issues with the P's especailly my mom at this point. We aren't going anywhere. I love the rouge river area out there. It's still so small that I would imaging you don't have to deal with this kind of shit.
