Clausen opts not to attend 2010 NFL Draft
17th April 2010 | NFL.com Staff
Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen has decided not to attend the 2010 NFL Draft, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. An invitation had been extended to Clausen, but he will not be among those on hand at Radio City Music Hall in New York. So far, 16 prospects have committed to attend the event. Clausen's draft stock has been the source of considerable debate. Some analysts such as NFL.com's Bucky Brooks expect the QB to go in the top 10 , but others such as NFL Network's Brian Baldinger believe Clausen might fall all the way to the bottom of the first round. The league is still awaiting word on whether Texas QB Colt McCoy or Florida QB Tim Tebow will go to New York. http://wap.nfl.com/site?t=1aTB3zzXQs...aBb4w&sid=nfl2 Posted by Mike Florio on April 16, 2010 6:17 PM ET Next week, 16 players will attend the NFL draft. Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was invited as well, and Clausen and multiple family members had planned to be present, but he had not committed. We're told that Clausen recently has decided not to attend, due to the fact that his grandfather, whose wife recently passed, was not able to make the trip to New York. So instead the Clausen family will congregate in Palm Springs, where his grandfather currently resides. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow also has been invited but has not yet made a decision on whether to attend. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...h-grandfather/ Last edited by evolve27; 04-17-2010 at 09:01 AM.. |

He's obviously not going because if he did, he'd have to beat the shit out of Todd McShay.

I really don't get it. Either he is falling fast or is facing the fact he is not going to get drafted early. The pussification continues. Berry!

Honestly not everyone wants to be there, Joe Thomas declined attending.

It's a non-issue IMO. If I was offered, I would love to go and be able to hold up my new team's jersey. But if Clausen doesn't want that, it's not a big deal.

Joe Thomas had a legit fishing trip and was a concensus top 5 pick. Clausen just seems like a prick. I don't think Jackson was there last year, and it really doesn't mean anything.

He went fishing with his dad, it was pretty obvious he was avoiding going.

Nah, I'd rather go fish than be at the podium anyways.
