Definition of a bad day...jumping 40 stories and living

NEW YORK -- A New York City man who plunged 40 stories from the roof of an apartment building has survived after crashing onto a parked car.

Witnesses and police say 22-year-old Thomas Magill jumped from the high-rise at W.
63rd Street on Tuesday. He landed in the backseat area of a Dodge Charger after crashing through the windshield.

He suffered broken legs. Police say he's in critical condition.

The car's owner, Guy McCormack, of Old Bridge, N.J., told the New York Daily News he's convinced that rosary beads he kept inside the Dodge saved Magill's life.

Police are investigating why Magill jumped from the building.

Magill isn't the only New Yorker to survive a high-rise fall. Window washer Alcides Moreno survived a fall of 47 stories from the roof of a skyscraper in December 2007.

I am wondering if the guy who fell 47 stories and lived landed on some rosary beads? I hate when people say shit like that. I would guess it was the physics of the entire situation that kept him from dying.

Those rosary bleeds must have been the extra soft kind.

My rosary beads are better than this guy's. They prevented my car from being hit by an idiot flying off a building today.

I'm trying to figure out how he went through the windshield and then landed in the back seat. Maybe the rosary beads grabbed him and converted some of his vertical momentum to horizontal momentum.
