Agreed. Check the fuses. Being that it's that old, does the unit run off of tubes?

Yeah, I was gonna have him check tubes next, then it occurred to me that I haven't seen a tube tester in YEARS. Could also be a blown cap in the power supply. Hell, if you wanna listen to LP's, get one of those newfangled USB turntables. Fixing this could be a project.

Being a musician and a tube nut, I've seen quite a few tube testers. They're hard to get a hold of (also getting the charts in order to get the right settings for odd tubes w/ the unit can be a bitch.) Apparently they can tell you if a tube would work. It just won't tell you how well.

For some reason, they seemed to have tube testers at most drugstores when I was a kid. I'm just thinking that a lot of consumer equipment of that era wouldn't be worth fixing IMO.

look for a pair of techniques, Pawn shops in the city will have them. DJ's go broke and need money for their E.

I think you probably blew a fuse or a tube. Either that or the power outage may have spiked sufficiently to short out a worn wire or a solder connection.
Also, pull out the turntable and see if somebody stashed some marijuana underneath it during a late '50s police raid. FAX |

It could also be as simple as reseating the tubes in their sockets. With the AC cord unplugged, of course.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Like many have suggested I am going to have to check the fuses and tubes and I hope that corrects it. If not I don't think I am willing to invest the money on this guy (Especially when you can buy those record / cd players at target for $100). None the less, since this thing has age to it I suppose it holds a bit of nostalgia in it for me (Even though I was born in the early 80's).
