ESPN RE-Draft 2006, 2007, 2008

ESPN rearranges the players to the spots they should have been drafted.

Broncos came in 5th by drafting players way below their value with a score of +206.
Chiefs came in #9 with a score of +59.
Chargers were #21 at -159
Raiders #26 at -283. Jabbarcus alone dropped Oakland 254 spots.

"LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell
may have gone first in the first 2007 draft,
but at the Official Re-Draft his phone never rings
."

Interesting article. They really don't like branden Albert. He pretty much negates the gain from Brandon Carr.

Cutler should drop at least 10 spots.

And ****ing Peyton Hillis moved to 6th overall? They must have believed that whole EA sports nonsense.

So the Broncos are the worse run team because they are the best drafters EVER but trade them all for peanuts.

I also think these things devalue Oline picks because they don't put up individual starts. I'm fine with Albert, especially knowing that we nailed it when we drafter Hali, Carr, Flowers, Charles, and Bowe.

You will not see me crying in my milk after reading this.

This is why I hate the statement that you can't see the results of a draft until later. Of course if you have a time machine you could make the perfect draft. Sure Elvis Dumervil seems like a great value pick at 126, but it would have been stupid to draft him at #10 in 2006 when he would have still been available in the 4th round even though he has first round talent.

Even in hind sight some of their reasoning is pretty incredible. They're slotted by how they are in 2011. Running backs often times have short careers. Laurence Maroney had a pretty good career but doesn't have much left in the tank. Does that truly mean he should not have been drafted?

Really? 4.1 yard average on a team that had more than 500 passing attempts every year of his career? The New England Patriots use the short passing game to control the ball and the run only to keep teams honest. I'd say he did about as well as anyone could ask of him in that spot.

This.

It still blows my mind that he went first round. It's almost as bad as TJackson going number 3.

Maroney tore it up in college against the shittiest defensive conference in the nation. WTF was BB thinking?
