Royals fans are classy

The ovation to Chipper last night was a great moment in sports. You could see it really took him by surprise. Well done, Royals fans.

I didn't hear about it on ESPN so I don't believe it.

While I agree on the ovation.

Not sure I agree starting a thread about it.

Chipper is a classy guy. My wife is a Braves fan and he's her favorite player. When we went to the Braves/Cards games in St. Louis earlier in the year, Chipper signed autographs for about an hour. I had never before seen a player sign autographs for more than a few minutes. My wife got his autograph in person - she was thrilled.

Also, in this day and age you can probably count on one hand the players who have had a HOF career and stayed with the same team (other than big market ****s that buy everybody). He's basically Atlanta's George Brett.

It was a great moment. I often like to talk about great moments. And yeah, with some of the undeserved negativity directed at Royals fans, I think it's okay to post this as a counter.

Didn't he get a standing ovation there as well? Hard to believe an arrogant asshole fanbase as us doing so though

Sounds like your wife is having an affair with Chipper Jones, brah. If you need to talk about it, just shoot me a text. You still have my number, right?

P.S. Wanna go to Six Flags this summer? I got us both season passes. Can't wait buddy

Then right afterwards we started insulting Robbie Cano's family. So we've got that going for us, too....
